Nate is normally self-confident, strong willed and calm. He is often hardworking, emotional, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious and capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal he has set for himself. He is a reliable worker in almost any profession he undertakes. He is the major finishers of most projects started by the others and he quickly becomes the backbone of any company that he is working for rising to the top.
The key phrase for him is "I use" and many people misconstrue this to mean that of a user and the social climber. But, in defense of Nate, "I use" means he is the expert at using whatever available resources are at hand and making use of them. In other words, like Martha Stewart, he can see that a discarded egg carton, large tin can, excess carpet pieces, whatever, that can be utilized towards more efficient, and useful productivity. And so, this "I use" talent works incredibly well from running a business to figuring out how to feed and clothe 5 kids on a very limited budget.
Romantically he is the marrying and monogamous type but he takes it all so seriously that he is often ill-at-ease and unhappy because he takes the whole love game so seriously. Therefore he is cautious around people he does not know very well, preferring not to meddle with others and in turn not to allow interference from them. Others will often see him as unapproachable, formal and aloof with an air of distance.
Of course, this couldn't be further from the truth but he is so uptight worrying about what others are thinking about him that he doesn't enjoy life as much as he could. However, once in love he isn't going to let go since he seems to think he won't get too many other chances but when in love he turns into the young guy romping through the fields as if intoxicated and deliriously happy.
Emotionally Nate tends to take a parental, care-taking role in love. He tends to listen to his sister's problems all the time but never reveals his own. And he is happiest when he is needed and appreciated. There can be a tendency when his love life is empty or troubled that he falls into pessimism, melancholy and even unhappiness, becoming dark and moody. This results in his music being dark and mysterious at times because of it.
Nate thinks profoundly and deeply, thoroughly exploring all possibilities before deciding on a 'safe' plan of action. He has a good memory and a desire for continuing knowledge. He can be rational, logical, clearheaded, and has good concentration, but he can be stuck too long in seriousness. To be useful with his creativity makes him the most comfortable. The practical artist is not so much the impetus for success as is going for the finer accomplishments of the singer, the musician, actor, or painter. His life choices are always highly influenced with the need for purpose. One of his favorite lines is; what's the purpose, if there is no purpose why bother.
Nate's philosophy and general character that just about permeates his every decision is that of being concerned about what everyone else thinks of his actions, for he thinks he is always being judged. However, behind this anxiety is a great integrity and need to do the best job he possibly can perform and to attain the respect of his contemporaries. What the world ends up with is an individual who truly follows the golden rule, which makes this planet a better place to live.
