Profile Sasha Kozlow is a "reformed" member of the Vanguard who works at the Elmhurst Hospital in the New York Safe Zone. As a condition of his parole, he takes a daily dose of negation drugs to suppress his ability, and is not allowed to to leave the Safe Zone without written permission from his handler. He occasionally assists Wolfhound when his presence is requested by the organization and SESA is in the right mood to sanction it.

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
And no one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be faded to telling only lies

But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

Appendices

Facts

Known to Most

  • Sasha Kozlow is a former Vanguard operative, codename Skoll, whose Russian cell was toppled during Operation Apollo. He followed the men and women responsible to the United States to seek revenge, but lacked the motivation to follow through, eventually working alongside the very people he'd targeted. His face-heel-turn earned him a stay of execution during the Albany Trials at the conclusion of the Second American Civil War.
  • Prior to his work with Vanguard, Sasha was a member of Spetsnaz, the Russian special forces. As a young man, he served in the Second Chechen War, where developed a case of PTSD that continues to negatively affect his ability to function in society today.
  • He currently works as a general practitioner at Elmhurst Hospital and lives with his mother in the New York Safe Zone.
  • His ability is a form of malignant healing that requires he be negated. Government orders.

Known to Some

  • Although Sasha loves his mother dearly — or at least as close to love as he's capable — he does not particularly like her. Yustina was brought over to the United States by the government to help keep an eye on the former Vanguard operative and monitor him for signs of depression, among other things, and Sasha has come to resent her for it. He's aggressively on the lookout for a potential wife to cook, clean, and otherwise look after her so more of his time can be freed up doing things he still marginally enjoys, like sneaking out of the Safe Zone to watch fights at The Crucible, or making himself a nuisance at Logan's antique shop. Are you the lucky lady?
  • Sasha attends court-mandated therapy once a week, and is forbidden from leaving the New York Safe Zone without authorization. On the rare occasions he does leave, it's to assist Wolfhound on missions where an extra set of hands is needed.
  • His shitty personality, combined with his high-functioning alcoholism, prevents Sasha from holding down a long-term relationship or most friendships. He's had dozens of girlfriends and a handful of restraining orders.

Known to Few

  • Sasha might not be allowed to leave the Safe Zone without authorization, but this hasn't stopped him from sneaking out to accompany Logan on his frequent excursions to Staten Island.
  • He has exactly three points of emotional vulnerability: Tania Kozlow, John Logan, and Yustina Kozlow.
  • In addition to healing, Sasha's power has a strange effect on other Evolved abilities and has on occasion changed how they function — usually for the worse.
  • As a teenager, Sasha was recruited to play ice hockey professionally, but lasted only one season before being kicked off the team. It turns out there is such a thing as being too aggressive. This set a precedent for almost every other "job" he's held, or attempted to hold, in his life, whether as a soldier, as an enforcer for Kazimir Volken, or as a doctor at Elmhurst.
