Scene Title Bring a Friend to Work Day
Synopsis Ash brings Jet to see Adam about some ungainful employment.
Date 07/21

Biddy Flannigan's Irish Pub

Ambient lighting blankets the establishment in a soft luminescence, glowing in tones of appealing orange from the front face of the bar and low hanging light fixtures overhead. Old style brick walls given the pub an appealing depth, reflecting the tone of lights in a more amber hue down upon the lengths of the polished, wooden floors. The bar counter of lacquered dark wood stretches along the northern wall, the forefront for shelves of numerous liquors and the substantially sized LCD televisions spaced liberally behind it. The screens flicker with the latest games and news as the labeled spirit bottles wink from lighted shelves with a beckon of their own. Barstools and high tables welcome tipsy patrons to their support, scattered with throughout the barroom with a few wedge into the darker, quieter, and more secretive recesses. Over the bar are a few banners of sports teams, most notably one of English football club Manchester United.

The thick wooden door to the west is fitted with a single neon sign sponsored by one of the brews on tap, glowing in the door's center window to shed its light onto the sidewalk outside and summoning in new customers when the bar is open for business.

Adam has set up this meeting at Biddy's cuz…that's where all the meetings have been lately. As usual, he's in his corner table along with a group of gentlemen in general thuggery along with a man who's dressed a bit nicer who will become to be known as Michael to everyone. At any rate, some of the men have a beer in front of them, but Adam is nursing a water tonight. It's later at night as he waits for Ash to show up with this woman he's talked about and he waits quietly.

Ash leads the way in with Jet behind him, though he does look over his shoulder to her every now and then. He stops inside of the pub and smiles at the familiar surroundings, then glances to the corner, expecting to see Adam, and he's not dissapointed. He moves towards teh corner at an even pace, feet scuffing along the floor as he walks.

Well. Ash has brought a gothling. Comeplete with the overly dyed black hair and the black contacts in her eyes, this female is the poster child for a misspent youth and too much time on their hands to where they sulk and hate society. But! Admist all of that, there is a carefree gait to her walk as she saunters after Ash, even going so far as briefly skipping before walking once more. she appears to be in her later teens, face pale with applied makeup.

Adam glances up as Ash walks in with his gothling escort. He quirks a brow dubiously as he sees her, but motions all the same for the two to take a seat at the table and sets aside his water. He gives a slow look over the perky goth before he turns to Ash, "Is this the woman you mentioned on the phone?"

Ash ughs and rubs at his forhead as Jet skips around behind him like that. He looks over at Adam with a long suffering look before he nods his head slowly. "Yeah, this is her. An old friend of mine." He pulls out a chair for Jet to sit in, then seats himself next to Adam, leaning forewards to rest his elbows on the table top. "Jet, Adam. Adam, Jet."
Ash waves to each, making the introductions.

"Why thank you Ash." A grin from Jet to the man as she slides into the seat at the table with Adam and Ash, her hands folding upon the table as she leans over it a little bit, locking her artifical black eyes upon Adam's own. "Jet indeed. A pleasure to meet you, Adam." A rolling of her shoulders before she leans back into the chair, hands resting in her lap as one leg slips over the other.

Adam sips on his glass of water quietly as he continues to consider the little gothling. Finally, he says, "Ash tells me you have a very special talent." he pauses a moment, "I'm going to assume that Ash was accurate. Do you mind telling me how it works?" he questions. "Is there some gothling in strange body out there trying to figure out what's going on?"

Jet just stares at Adam for a very long time, then, "I will not discuss such things in the open, but no. There is no gothling in a strange body out there… I -am- the gothling." A moistening of her lips at this as she lets her eyes drift to Ash briefly, "You want a beer honey pie? I'll order, my treat." Then back to Adam, "Ash has seen me work. I did not care much for the look of horror on his face."

Adam turns towards Ash with another questioning eyebrow at the honey pie comment. He keeps his counsel on that though before he turns to Jet. "I think you'll find that I've quite the resiliant stomach." he's quiet for some moments, "So what are you hoping for? Money? I ask, because I find if I understand the motivation of an employee, it's much easier to gauge just how trustworthy and loyal they can be."

Ash looks over to Jet and his head shakes to the offer of a beer. "No, I try not to drink with business at hand." He leans back in his chair, his thick arms crossing over his broad heavy chest as he looks over to Adam, then back to Jet, a sigh escaping him. "She's highly affectionate.." he offers to Adam. "You dont' want her displaying it in here boss, trust me."

"I have money Adam. Loads of it. I have gathered a lot in my yea…" and then Ash's words of affection come and her black eyes seem to roll, though it's hard to tell with the lack of pupils she has. "You make it sound like I touch you all the time Ash." Then back to Adam her eyes seem to settle, "Ashley and I go way back. Anyway!" A sharp clapping of her hands, just once, "I don't want money. I'm just bored. I can only take over Ash so many times and publically humilate him before I get bored."

The answer seems to leave him a bit nonplussed. He continues to study the gothling, then turns to Ash for a few moments. He looks to Ash, both after the revealing fact that he's apparently a toy and also after she gives her answer, "And what do you think, Ash? I assume she is effective, but is she…employable material? Her answer makes me think she might be.." he turns to Jet, "No offense," in advance before he turns back to Ash, "Unreliable."

Ash rubs at his forhead slowly as Jet speaks and then Adam asks him questions. "Long as you provide whatever it is she's after she'll be reliable. So if it's action, fun… money… whatever it may be. As long as she can get it from working for you she'll be reliable. In my opinion yeah, she's employable material. She can take over anyone she touches. A security guard somewhere, a company president… all manner of possibilities… the president…"

Jet's features harden the slightest bit when Adam calls her 'Unreliable', the gothling leaning back from the table as her arms shift to cross over her chest. Silence from her now as she just stares at Adam, letting the men talk amongst themselves. For now.

Adam looks back towards Jet as he watches her quietly, now that he's spoken to Ash. He's quiet for some long moments before he takes a drink of his water. "Part of my problem, Jet, is that I do very important work. We're out to save the world, yeah. I just don't know how fun that always is." he pauses, "How long can you….hold someone?"

"I don't know. I've been a person for years before. The only problem I have faced, is that it can sometimes be hard to learn what you need to know about a person. I was a man for a couple of years… but I jetted when he… I… was engaged through a family coupling." A sideways glance to Ash at this, then back to Adam as Jet speaks some more, "I would say I could hold someone, forever, if I so wished… and saving the world? I'll do whatever you want, as long as I'm entertained."

Adam hmms a bit and smiles, "You know, I think I can keep you entertained." he says thoughtfully before he leans forward and says, "What happens to the person that you take? Do they become the gothling?" he questions, "Do they fight you for the body? Do they disappear in the ether?"

Ash can answer that question. He turns his eyes on Adam and winces a bit. "They're imprisoned within their own body for the entire duration that Jet has them. Trust me… it's.." he goes silent and shakes his head. "To put it simply I got the chance to see someone recently after being held by her for a long while."

"No, I am not a body swapper," comes Jet's words, "My gift is pure." As Adam leans towards her, she leans towards him, putting her elbows on the table as she cups her chin with her hands. Then Ash answers for her, a smirk as she turns her gaze to Adam. "What he said. They go into remission. Sometimes they remember somethings, sometimes they do not. Imagine, suddenly coming too, and finding that ten years of your life is gone. Those were my years. My life. I suppose it's a form of death in a way, in a small way." A shrug of her shoulders, "But such is the life I was dealt."

Adam is quiet again. It appears that he's thinking. And in this thinking, he turns back towards Jet. "Good. Then if you want the job, you're hired. If you give me a few days, I will have your first assignment." he says. He leans back for some moments. "I would say it probably will be quite…entertaining."

Jet gives a small bob of her head. "Good. I will probably go hunt back down the body of a girl I just recently released. I spend about ten thousand bucks in a full body tattoo… and I do mean full. Haven't quite enjoyed it long enough." A smirk from her at this as she lifts her arms, stretching them out, "And I do not mind taking men. I have before. The male penis is a fascinating muscle." Oh yes, she did just go there.

Adam considers Jet for a few moments. There's a moment of fascination on his features at the apparent callousness of the woman. But then, Adam isn't exactly known for his compassionate side. He pauses and nods, "Alright then…I assume I can contact you through Ash? Or do you have perhaps a more direct line."

Ash is silent in his chair as the two speak simply sitting back and watching both of them, looking like he could use a very stiff drink.

"I have a cell phone. I will slip you the number. I am also fluent in Japanese, though only conversational in Spanish and French. Just so you know. I cannot take over the mind of those I take. Their mind, is -their- mind. I'm just driving." A smirk from Jet at this as she turns her black eyes upon Ash, "Ain't that right, baby?"

Adam just turns to Ash as if to await his response.

Ash looks over to Jet as she says that, his head tilting a bit to the side before looking over to Adam and then back. "How should I know? I'm not hte one possessing other people."
Jet likes to mess with Ash it seems like, for she moves to rest her hand on his forearm. "Let's do this again… and then you tell me if you remember or not." A laugh from her, clearly amused… but hey, she needs a lil' bit of amusement, right?

Adam nods, "Then I'll be in contact soon, Jet." he says, "Welcome to the organization."

Ash yanks his arm away from jet as she tries to put her hand on his flesh. "Oh no…" He shakes his head, scooting his chair bacck some before he looks over to Adam. "Any word on where we're going?":

"You are so not fun," come her murmured words as her eyes drift back to settle on Adam. "Shall I depart and leave you two be now?" A hand digs into her pocket as she pulls out a tube of black lipstick, uncapping it as she begins to write her phonenumber on a napkin for Adam.

Adam mms, "Well, you were leaving anyone. But I've got to be going myself." he glances towards Ash and shakes his head, "No, not yet. We still have some business in the city." he pauses, "Did you find Isis?"

Ash looks up to Adam and gives a slow nod of his head. "Yeah, she came home yesterday morning… some.. huge mess… still not sure about it all."

Jet slides the napkin over to Adam. "Call me whenever. No matter what face I take, I'll always be Jet. Thank you for this meeting and the opputunity to work for you." A flash of a smile to Adam at this, then a glance to Ash. "See yeh around babycakes. We'll play soon." Could be ominous words considering, the gothling heading out now, only to briefly twirl then skip as she does so. She doesn't comment on the Isis thing, probably not having anything to add.
