Background

Having escaped from 2019 where he was imprisoned in the Moab Federal Penitentiary, Edward Ray collected a group of secret prisoners of Arthur Petrelli and enacted a plan where he would manipulate past events to bring about a cataclysmic change of events diverting the future from its presumed course. In his mad quest, Edward took the lives of dozens of people that would influence the future and brought down the Company's Bronx Facility in a thunderous explosion. Finally, he planned to utilize the power of present and future Tyler Case to awaken evolved abilities in hundreds of thousands of people in Fort Lee, New Jersey after orchestrating the death of Arthur Petrelli.

Thwarted by his younger self, Edward's mad plan was stopped and he was killed in a fit of rage on the roof of Pinehearst by Delilah Trafford. His body was never recovered.

Edward's ability has been explained to others as the power to project the outcome of events as they are happening, though he has stated the limitations of such a power relate to how much information he has about his surroundings.
