Biddy Flannigan's Irish Pub

Ambient lighting blankets the establishment in a soft luminescence, glowing in tones of appealing orange from the front face of the bar and low hanging light fixtures overhead. Old style brick walls given the pub an appealing depth, reflecting the tone of lights in a more amber hue down upon the lengths of the polished, wooden floors. The bar counter of lacquered dark wood stretches along the northern wall, the forefront for shelves of numerous liquors and the substantially sized LCD televisions spaced liberally behind it. The screens flicker with the latest games and news as the labeled spirit bottles wink from lighted shelves with a beckon of their own. Barstools and high tables welcome tipsy patrons to their support, scattered with throughout the barroom with a few wedge into the darker, quieter, and more secretive recesses. Over the bar are a few banners of sports teams, most notably one of English football club Manchester United.

The thick wooden door to the west is fitted with a single neon sign sponsored by one of the brews on tap, glowing in the door's center window to shed its light onto the sidewalk outside and summoning in new customers when the bar is open for business.

Some time later that night, after curfew even, you were invited to come to Biddy Flannigan's Irish pub. When you arrive, the lights are on, but the only people who are populating it are Adam and a couple men who fit the goon stereotype. Adam appears to be sitting at a corner table and reading a piece of paper.

Nicolas steps into the pub after been allowed in, he pauses for a moment to scan the area before he is lead to the table that Adam is sitting at. His eyes turn to the goons that accompany the man. As he takes a seat, he looks to Adam. "I feel like I'm in The Godfather movies, but I don't know if I'm going to be walking out of here or be carried out, Corleone style." He sets his hands on the table.

Adam looks up at Nicolas and puts his paper down, smiling casually. "Oh, there's no need to be so dramatic, this is just a friendly business meeting." he says. He pauses a moment, "I must admit, we didn't meet out of chance. To be honest, I've been looking for you, I hope you don't mind." he folds his hands together and places them on the table, "You are a man of remarkable talent…natural and otherwise." he purses his lips, "My activities are not what one might term on the up and up, yeah?" he pauses, "And truthfully, your talent set really fills a void in my organization."

Nicolas shrugs his shoulders slightly. "Sorry. Watched one too many movies." He says with a slight smirk. He sits back in his seat as he listens to the man, an eyebrow raised slightly at the mention of being searched for. "I admit, you must be a man of skill, yourself, or a man of resources and contacts. Trying not to be found and here it is that you found me." He tilts his head slightly. "But, you do have me intrigued as to just what this organization of yours is and where I fit into it."

Adam looks off to the side, thinking to himself for a few moments. Finally, he turns back towards him, "One might say I'm a bit of a freedom fighter. Personally, I'm not fond of the current inquisition being performed on Evolved, and so…through a roundabout way, I'm out to change the world." he smiles thinly, "I suppose in a certain way, that's the most self-important term of it. But to be truthful, I've always been an ends justify means sort of bloke. So as you can imagine, there's a lot of activities that…are best left under the table. Some of that, I'd look to you to fix. Some of that, I'd look to you to cause." he pauses, "I pay quite well, more than your consulting business, I'd wager. Now…I'm being rather open and honest with you, Mr. Belmont. More than one might say is wise. But we both have secrets to hide, so I'm sure you would not be in a hurry to do a tete-a-tete over who can reveal what. And given your background, I'm not sure you care about what I'm admitting to you."

Nicolas fuzzles his brow slightly as he looks at the man, crossing his arms at the chest. "I'd be lying if I said that the money was not a factor, but if you're going to be open and honest, then I'd feel a lot more comfortable with you taking the first steps in that direction. You understand."

Adam tilts his head for a few moments, "I thought I was taking the first steps in that direction." he pauses and leans forward, "I need a hacker. I need a hacker that can do more than any mere mortal can do. I'll need you for various tasks, like erasing evidence on the internet…I may need you to break into financial accounts and.." he waves a hand, "So on. All the thing hackers do."

Nicolas nods his head. "My mistake." He says before the man continues. He listens to the outlying duties, nodding his head slightly as he takes in each task. He thinks on this for a moment after the man finishes before he nods his head. "Okay. I can do that. How long of a job are we talking about? A few weeks, a month or more?" He asks as he leans forward, resting his forearms on the table top.

Adam mms, "Well, assuming you enjoy the work.." he says, "And I approve of your results…I was thinking of something of a more permanent basis. The truth is, the strength of your resume.." he taps the paper he was reading, "Makes me feel confident I would want to take you on as a full time employee. I suppose there might be a moral question for you that you might want to consider…maybe? I don't know."

Nicolas nods his head and sits back slightly, looking at the man. "Well, I suppose that I could do that. And if you know my credentials, then if I say that I can do something, then I can. But there are limits to what I can do and I won't be shy about telling you that it can't be done from my end." He pauses for a moment. "Since you've been open and honest, then what would you want to know from me?"

Adam considers the man quietly, "Well, you already know that I have a criminal enterprise." he says, "So, I suppose my question is, can you deal?" he questions. "Clearly, you'll be more of the office work type, not really doing anything…messy. But…" he says, "Suppose you have to clean up after something messy. If you really want me to get specific, I can. But you know the gist. Nothing in your background suggests anything violent. So, I need to know if you can work with violent individuals."

Nicolas chuckles softly and nods. "Yeah, I can deal. It's not like my moral compass is right on and as far as who I work for or with, as long as the pay is good, I'm happy. I don't need details, just specifics of what I need to do." He licks his lips for a moment. "Would this be an office job or one that I could work from home?"

Adam nods a bit at the answer, apparently satisfied. "Well, we don't really have an office as such, I'm sure you understand. So you can work from wherever you like. I only require that you be available whenever I need you. Think of it as being on call twenty four - seven. You go about your business until…" he trails off as if he's gotten his point across.

Nicolas nods his head. "Alright. I can deal with that. I already assume you know how to contact me." He says after a brief moment. His eyes glance to the goons for a split second before looking back to the man. "Any idea of when I can be expecting the first call?"

Adam pauses thoughtfully, "Soon, I suppose." he says, "I have a bit of business to take care of out of town. When I return I plan to put some things in motion that will certainly require your skills. You'll be working with other people of other various talents." he pauses, "I suppose you can think of this as a vacation. So…enjoy yourself before you get put to work."

Nicolas nods and smiles. "Look forward to it." He starts to stand from his seat before he pauses and sits back down. "Is there anything else I should know? Anything that we haven't discussed yet?"

Adam considers this for a few moments and then says, "Doing this work will eventually make you more wanted than you were." he pauses, "Once I put you in play, people will immediately want to find out who's doing my will.." he pauses, "And over time, you'll learn many of the other pieces on the board." he pauses, thinking, then says, "Oh yes, I deal with betrayal swiftly and certainly. One might even say messily. We can understand each other, yes?"

Nicolas nods his head as he listens to the other parts for a moment. "You don't have anything to fear from me as far as betrayal goes. My loyalties lay with the man signing the checks." He says simply. "And that man is you, so you tell me what to do and I'll do it. No questions asked."

Adam nods and smiles, "Good. That's exactly what I like to hear." he holds up two fingers to his temple in salute. "I'll be in contact Mr. Belmont."

Nicolas nods his head as he stands from the table. "I'll be waiting." He says before he offers a slight nod of his head, one last glance to the goons and heads out of the pub, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket.
