Lead Organizers
The organizers are the keystones of the network — the people who keep the far-flung alliance of Ferrymen more or less moving in the same direction and all together. They don't have command authority, although they are respected and their directives typically heeded; it's common sense to do so, given that these people generally know a lot more about the big picture. They facilitate communication and cooperation across the network, making sure needs get filled, hazards are identified, and information is shared.

Above all else, Hana Gitelman is the keystone of Ferrymen communications. She's the one who ensures that those who need secure cellphones have them; that emails, text messages, IMs are not overheard by any system nor recorded in any files; that there are no bugs or wiretaps in safehouses or meeting places — or on Ferrymen and their associates, for that matter; and that building security systems are the best they can be. She is also a resource for various martial, intelligence, analysis, and operations endeavors — when she happens to physically be where you are. Most often, Ferrymen business with Hana is conducted through her Internet alias "Wireless". |

Grace Matheson has carved for herself a key position amongst the Ferrymen network. She is one of the few people who knows almost everyone and their current status — who has what house and which occupants, who is handling what resource, the progress of various endeavors. She can also be found elbow-deep in virtually anything that needs doing, from delivering supplies to stacking blocks and nailing wood to dragging children out of harm's way by the scruff of their necks. And volunteering at St. John's. Theoretically, Grace has a life and a job and is a co-operator of the Hangar safehouse — she still winds up in the middle of everyone else's business. |

Properly, these are the Ferrymen: the people who are steadfastly committed to making the world a better place from the bottom up, righting wrongs one selfless act at a time. Some operate safehouses, shelters for Evolved individuals from the persecution of their communities; but there is much more to the Ferrymen than that alone: from the people who take time out to cook for those who no longer have homes of their own, who contribute supplies, money, carry messages and packages; to those who help with fixing plumbing, repairing stairs, painting walls; physicians, tutors, playmates, and willing listeners who come when called for because it's the right thing to do and for no lesser reason than that.

Abigail is one of the medical go to for helping to stabilize people until full fledged medical professionals or healers can be brought in. She's also a runner, makes and delivers meals to various houses and pitches in with whatever is needed. She is no longer the healer on duty. She's known in a lot of the safe houses and has transportation that can be used a spare room to be temporarily utilized if need be above Old Lucy's. |

Alistair McKeon is someone a good part of the network knows by name but not face. Requests sent his way result, often surprisingly quickly, in various materials being delivered to the requester's door — from food to toiletries to spare shoes, hammers, nails, or even a pickup truck for moving large and bulky things. His role is twofold: Alistair oversees the Hangar when Grace and Scott are both either sleeping or out, and also is the nexus of the network's supply chain, linking together those who have with the ones who need. |

Most of the time, Darla Hurst can be found at or near the Foxhole, making sure that no tunnel rats decide to take over the Ferrymen's investment there. This leaves her with a lot of free time on her hands, and opportunity to explore the warren of broken and decaying subway tunnels beneath Midtown; she frequently responds to general summons sent across the network for any reason. |

Flint specializes in navigating and surviving desolated sections of New York and Jersey that make search and pursuit difficult for others not intimately familiar with the territory. X-ray vision has allowed him to map out several visually unsettling but structurally sound abandoned buildings, each of which is stocked with basic survival gear (Hotel California is a good example of one of the more developed locations.) Typically he's best utilized as an escort, for breaking hot pursuits or for helping individuals to drop off the map into the murk of Midtown before they are moved out into more comfortable and long term arrangements. He's armed and abrasive but can be relied on to take care of business efficiently under pressure. Currently in possession of Abigail's healing ability. |

Began and still works under Cat in the Village safehouse, and is also one of the Ferrymen's double operatives with Phoenix. Delilah is essentially able to double as a mother figure for children and other teenagers; she has considerable experience with children of any age. Delilah is well rounded, and is also fully capable of doing the more physical activities such as carrying messages, moving supplies, and escorting individuals from place to place. Sh can cook, administer first aid, help with repairs- Dee fills a rather Renaissance role for the Ferrymen, no pun intended. |

A former member of Vanguard and avian telepath, Eileen Ruskin's role within the Ferrymen is largely based around gathering outside intelligence and applying it to the network. Her responsibilities also encompass a variety of other work that includes rudimentary medical care, securing safe passage from one part of New York's metropolitan area to another, and the tutelage of children under the age of twelve in simple subjects such as reading and writing. Although she is not attached to any one safehouse or way station, she spends most of her time while "on duty" at Staten Island due to the protection it offers from the authorities. |

Eve Mas is a seer based out of Midtown with the ability to receive prophecies in the form of dreams. When she is not relaying messages from the future to people, the woman works also out of The Garden, helping with refugees and when there are children about, she sings for them at times. Also for assignments that need a good and strong gun hand, Eve is one of the go to women. Knowing how to handle a few guns very well. Not too bad in hand-to-hand but her use in firearms makes her a asset to almost any operation where firearms are needed. |

Pastor Sumter formerly controlled Ferrymen gatekeeping at the Guiding Light Baptist Church, and acted as a counselor and precognitive for the Ferry during this time. Since it has been targeted and destroyed by Humanis First!, Joseph now can be found as a resident and worker at the Grand Central Terminal project. He assists in renovation as well as helps to oversee the flow of supplies in and out to other safehouses. Though he does not lead a flock, his prior role as a preacher is defining enough that counsel is still offered to those who need it. |

Son of lead organizer Noah Bennet and his wife Sandra, Lyle is a recent arrival to New York City. Unsurprisingly, his role in the Ferry is an amorphous, changing thing that will continue to evolve as his responsibilities within the network do. His character is also currently open for application; if interested, please @mail staff for details. |

Megan Young is a full-time ER nurse at St. Luke's and a part-time medical provider for St. John's and the Ferrymen safehouses. Recruited into the group not too long after the Midtown explosion, she has a master's degree in nursing and a specialty in trauma medicine/combat nursing. Since 2006, her role has primarily been to keep any refugees on the underground railway healthy enough to get where they need to go, and she also regularly volunteers her time to help out at St. John's and at the Manhattan VA hospital. Most recently, she has gone on hiatus from St. Luke's and let it be known to the Ferrymen that she is actively out on Staten Island running a free clinic out of Chicago Air's airfield, and she has open access to transport if people need more aid than she can render on-site; she made a point to let those in the Garden know and was planning on also contacting the Lighthouse — though both may be now moot in light of the rain of fire coming down on Staten lately. Anyone who needs medical assistance through the Ferrymen, though, can be given her name. Anything said to her remains in confidence. |

Recruited by Noah Bennet when the network was still in its infant stages, Meredith Gordon operates a safehouse in SoHo above a Vietnamese take-out restaurant called Nam Phuong. Her primary responsibility within the Ferrymen is assisting with travel arrangements for refugees who wish to leave the country. Having spent most of her adult life on the run from the Company after she burned down an apartment complex during a bag-and-tag gone awry, Meredith is especially knowledgeable when it comes to finding safe places to hide south of the U.S. border. She has contacts in Mexico City as well as Guadalajara and Tijuana. |

Robin is one of the overseers of the Ferrymen's Grand Central Terminal project, which he helps operate with his twin brother Neil. As a part-time actor, he is skilled in the application of make up and prosthetics, and is one of the networks go-to people when it comes to temporarily changing appearances. Basic repair, wiring, carpentry and simple plumbing work also fall under his purview, though he'd rather leave such tasks to someone else. |

Sal Silvatti was a surgeon with extensive medical training, though he remained mum on just what exactly that was. He was known to be a metamorph, so was fairly easy to assume that his real identity was something other than what was presented to the Ferrymen. He was also capable of moving the position of injuries, thus reducing their severity. Upper levels of the Ferrymen knew that his real identity is Sonny Bianco, the Mayor's son. Those people also knew that he was capable of changing other peoples' faces in addition to his own to allow fugitive Evolved to start new lives. In October of 2009, he was gunned down by Emile Danko of Humanis First. Deceased. |

Scott Lawrence Harkness is an Army veteran who works as a security guard at a few local banks. However, his real job is to help Grace and Alistair operate a safehouse for Evolved needing a quiet place to settle down. |
Associates
Associates are known to the Ferrymen, and know of the Ferrymen, but haven't crossed that nebulous line dividing can be asked to help from can be summoned for help. They may have too many other demands on their time to be able to commit seriously to the network, or choose not to become involved with something that is shady at best and illegal whenever the government gets around to calling it that, or simply are considered not fully trustworthy. However, they have useful talents, skills, capabilities, contacts — and/or a willingness to assist on their own terms.
Wanted Roles
There is always room for more in the loose association that is the Ferrymen; these are the specific niches that could use filling and should provide a plethora of RP hooks:
- "Coyotes"; men and women experienced in the transportation of people across international borders to a non-official entry point of a destination
- Operators or co-operators for existing safehouses and way stations
