Apparently, that mark for guests is always located on the back of the left hand (wrist, upper arm or middle of the chest if the person is missing body parts) and looks like: хви

When someone steals from or does violence inside the library, the ink seems to move from the back of the hand to the palm, like the literary Black Spot from Treasure Island and they are never accepted as a Guest again. The spot also never seems to wash away by normal methods.
