Central Park

Now that it's a nice, balmy temperature, at least compared to the last month, Melissa has ventured out. Like others, she's been getting a major case of cabin fever, and had to get out. And, it seems, that her half-grown pup, Jerry, was suffering from the same affliction. Mel's wearing a coat, but isn't bundled up like she might've been in these temperatures prior to the mega-freeze. Just a coat and hat. One hand is stuck in her pocket, while the other holds Jerry's leash.

Mel sighs softly as she gets tugged this way and that by the German Shepherd, since he's determined to smell everything just in case there's something here but melting snow. But she smiles fondly. "Okay, Jerry. I'm sure there's no dogs hiding under the snow. Or cats or birds or anything else you can chase or otherwise play with. So can't ya calm down a lil' bit?"

Walking through the snow in a long zipped up black leather coat, white jeans, and black snow boots, Magnes is traightening his oval goggles with red lenses and the red scarf around his mouth and nose after a quick flight. His hands have thin white gloves as well, but he has no real destination. There's a phone call to make later, a Muggles to look for, and generally a lot on the agenda… at least later.

Coincidentally seperate from Magnes, the day has found Quinn milling about Central park as well, decked out in her usual attire of hoodie, jeans, and headphones - save for the red hair she now sports.Hands in her pockets due to her lack of gloves, she whistles loudly, looking around at nothing in particular. It was a lazy day, and her B&N wasn't quite back up and in operational condition yet, so the Park seemed like the best place to take her mind off things.

Melissa spots a bench and slowly makes her way in its direction. Slowly because Jerry has spotted Quinn and wants to go meet her. Even as Mel is brushing snow off of the bench, he's letting out a little yip and hopeful whine to the stranger. "What is your problem, Jerry?" she mutters, before looking in the direction he's straining towards, and she sighs. "Jerry, not everyone likes dogs as much as I do."

Magnes spots Quinn before Melissa, waving from behind, "Quinn!" he calls out, which is loud enough for Melissa and Jerry to hear, running up beside her. "I should really give you our address, so we can hang out and have, uh, band bonding I guess you'd call it?"

Quinn's attention is caught equally both by Magnes and by Melissa and Jerry, causing her to looking between both of them quickly enough to almost make her a little dizzy, her headphones sliding off her ears and coming to a rest awkwardly around her neck. "I 'ave to stop running into you in random places, Magnes. Any other girl might think you're stalkin' her." She cracks a grin at her newfound bandmate, waving a hand dismissively at him. "I drove Sable home from teh audition the other day. I'm a step ahead'a ya'." Pivoting on her foot, she turns back towards Jerry, taking a few catious steps forward to look. "Does 'e bite?" Quinn had always wanted a dog, but never really had the opptrotunity to have one, so she took every opprotunity she could to pet one.

Melissa looks highly amused at the question. "Bite? Not unless you do something stupid like try to steal his food, toys or hurt me. Otherwise he's more likely to try to lick you to death or beat you with his tail. And right now he's dying to meet someone new. So you can totally pet him if you wanna," she offers, keeping a tight hold on the leash so the excited dog doesn't knock Quinn down. Though it looks as though doing that is taking some effort.

Glancing over, Mel spots Magnes, and a look is shot between him and Quinn, before she looks back to Magnes and nods to him. "Hey Mags. How's it goin'?"

"Oh, everything's fine. I moved into a new place. This is my new bandmate, Quinn." Magnes thumbs over at her, then heads to the bench, motioning his hand to gravitationally shift snow to the ground so he can take a seat. "I should invite you over for dinner, then you can meet my girlfriend and stuff."

Yip

Right under Jerry comes a little rust colored Pomeranian who's fur has seen far better days and his paws likely far warmer surfaces than the melting city scape of central park that remains. Mr. Muggles pitter patters underneath Jerry with a speed in thought, like Lance armstrong on his bike. Up leaps the dog, getting in Jerry's face all playful like, desiring to find a playmate in the wilds of new York for the length of his stolen moments away from Sandra's loving arms.

Quinn probably should be surprised by teh familiarity shared between Melissa and Magnes, but after Elaine and Sable Magnes knowing someone is losing it's impact. "Cripes, Magnes, you literally know everyone, don't 'ya?" She chuckles and offers a wave to Melissa, smiling as she starts to kneel so that she can give Jerry the attention he so much seems to crave. "Cute dog! What's 'is name?" The chance to pet Jerry doesn't come, however as the Pomeranian rather suddenly makes it's presence known - surprising Quinn just enough to send her teetering backwards and into the snow with a yelp of her own.

Melissa's brows shoot up. "Girlfriend? You got a girlfriend?" she asks, tone a little incredulous, and she seems too surprised to be tactful and hide it. "How'd you find a girlfriend when the whole fuckin' city has been shut down?" Then she's distracted by Jerry's new playmate, as is Jerry. He jerks back quickly enough that he sits down on his rump, while trying to peer at the little furball.

"What the…?" Mel mutters, releasing the leash and bending down to scoop up the new dog. "Now where did you come from?" she murmurs as she looks over Mr. Muggles, searching for a collar and tag.

"My dog is Jerry. No idea who this little guy is. And I'm Melissa, or Mel. Either way. You okay?" she asks, glancing at Quinn, trying to hide her amusement at seeing the girl sprawled in the snow.

Magnes has only met Muggles once, but the dog couldn't stop sniffing him the first time. And he was told the lack of barking meant he was liked. He's not sure if this is Muggles, but he's about to blow Quinn's mind by acknowledging a seemingly stray dog.

He does seem to know everyone.

"Muggles?" he asks, then calls out, just to see if it is, indeed, the missing dog. "Muggles! Here boy, Mister Muggles!" He hunches down and pats his thighs a few times.

Though Melissa asking about how he got his girlfriend earns a crazy answer but with a completely straight face. "Oh, well, I was flying home and saw her walking around in the blizzard, before it got very bad. These guys were going to hurt her, so I beat them up, called the cops, and took her to my place because she had no where to stay."

Who wants magnes, and the cold ground when one can have Melissa and warm arms. He weighs next to nothing and is more than happy to pepper Mel's face with little licks - albeit his breath leaves much to be desired - and is unphased by Magnes's calls or Quinn's yelp at surprise. Just wriggles happily in Mel's arms seeking that attention in proxy that Sandra lavishes on him.

Quinn groans and sits up, a frown across her face. "Gettin' wet in the snow not what I planned on doin' today," she mutters as she slowly rises to her knees, then her feet, brushing herself off. "Right, then. Pleasure to meet 'ya, Melissa." She offers a grin as she watches the dog in her lap, even as one hand continues to stroke Jerry's head. She glances over at Magnes, snickering at Melissa's asceration about Magness having a girlfriend. "I'm fine, just caught me off balance is all." Hands moving to her hip, she turns and gives Magnes a sort of mock glare. "Christ, a feckin' dog!? I'm begnnin' to wonder if I can play six degrees with you're name, Magnes." Crossing her arms, she smirks. "And do you make a habit'a pickin' up girls in the snow?"

Melissa gives Magnes an odd look at his description of how he met his girlfriend, and she nods slowly. "Uh…huh." The doggy kisses don't seem to bother her, but then, she's probably used to Jerry doing the same thing. And his 'kisses' aren't little. Which he proves after he recovers from Mr. Muggles, by starting to lick Quinn's face. Hi there new person!

"So you know this dog, Magnes? Whose is it? I should probably take it back to them. It's gotten warmer, but still not good for a dog to be lost in this city." She keeps the pomeranian close, and starts petting him, head turning slightly so it's her cheek that's licked more than anything else.

"I think it's my ex girlfriend's mother's dog, uh, Sandra Butler. He's missing, and that dog fits the description…" Magnes holds a hand out to lightly pet the dog's head. "Mister Muggles?" he asks again, trying to see if the dog responds. "Muggles is a show dog, so he should be trained. And I wouldn't be surprised if you could play six degrees, I think there's some sort of scientific explanation when it comes to people like us."

Mr. Muggles wriggles more in Melissa's arm, in desperate need of a bathe and a combing. If his reaction means anything, this is indeed The Mr. Muggles. Melissa's cheek is bathed again and more, almost as if begging.

"Missin', eh?" Quinn manages to say between licks from Jerry, laughing occasionally. "What kinda name is Muggles? Sound like a damn muppet." Pushing Jerry back long enough to remove his tounge from her face, she looks over at Melissa. "Happy as he looks, I bet he'd fancy gettin' back home."

"Sandra Butler? Alright. I'll take Muggles back to her then. Though damn he needs a bath and breathmint. Bet he's hungry too," Melissa says. Jerry looks disappointed to be pushed away, and looks to Magnes, tail wagging. Play? Meanwhile, Mel is digging in her pocket with her free hand, and coming up with a couple of doggie treats, which she offers to Mr. Muggles.

Magnes opens his jacket, digging through his inner pockets before pulling out a two foot folded square cotton cloth, fairly thick, then offers it to Melissa. "Go ahead, you can wrap it around him, it's emergency cloth I keep around, just in case."

Despite pushing Jerry away from her face, she continues to pet the dog, a smile on her face. "How long's he been missin', since you seem to know everything, Magnes?" Quinn is mostly curious because, well… she remembers how cold it was. If that dogs been out and survived, someone ebtter test it to see if it's evo.

Melissa takes the cloth and wraps it around Mr. Muggles before digging out another treat. It seems she keeps several on hand when walking Jerry, just in case. "Thanks. And yeah, how long's he been gone? Hopefully he wasn't out when it was way the fuck below zero."

"I don't know, I just saw a sign that said it was missing, I haven't spoken to Miss Butler or seen Muggles since some time last year." Magnes sighs in his seat, zipping his coat back up. "I'm not even sure where she lives, but I'll find out. Guess I need to call Claire…"

Quinn finally steps away from Jerry, sideling up beside Magnes. "Poor thing, then. Stuck out in the snow. Then again, it's stuck it out like some cockroach so far." Quinn bends down, lowering her eyes to be even with Muggles.

Melissa shrugs a little. "I'm sure she's listed. I'll just look her up and take Muggles to her. And yeah, I can't believe he survived. I'm not even sure cockroaches survived this weather unless they were someplace warm," she says, shaking her head. "Should probably go get him something to eat then track her down though."

"I could explain how cockroaches survived, but you'd probably get bored." Magnes snickers and stands, stretching before he begins to ascend into the air. "I've got a few things to do, and people to call. Anyone want a ride?"

Quinn says, "Nah, I got my scooter parked nearby." Quinn's hands fold into her pockets in an attempt to warm them up. "Gimmie a call later, maybe we can get a bit'a jam in before people compain about noise." She turns back to Jerry, smiling as she looks down at him. "You're a right good pup, excited as you are."

"I'd rather not fly with two dogs," Melissa says dryly. "Before you go though, leave me Claire's number? If I can't find her mom, then it wouldn't hurt to have her number just in case." She smiles at Quinn. "Was nice meeting you. And thanks for not minding Jerry's enthusiasm."

"I sort of can't give you her number, it's a bit of a private line." Magnes says with an awkward look to the ground. It's one of those clandestine things. "Just call me if you can't find her mother, and I'll call Claire." He offers a smile, then heads up into the sky. Woosh

"Whoa." Quinn's eyes are wide, she hadn't actually seen Magnes fly off before. She was frozen in place before her senses return to her. "Oh, um…pleasure to meet you, too." She turns to Melissa and waves, offering a wide smile. "And no problem! 'e's a fun one, Jerry." The enthusiasm in her voice almost matches Jerry's.

Melissa rolls her eyes. "Of course it is." She shakes her head and looks back to Quinn, not seeming at all impressed by Magnes's flying. She grins. "Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime then, and you can play with him again. Maybe when it's more a normal June temperature too!"
