Scene Title Psych Evaluation
Synopsis Allison talks to Luke, to try to judge his mental state after all that's happened.
Date June 17, 2010

Fort Hero

It's been a while since Allison last visited Luke. Though it's only been one visit, she's read everything she could on him. She had to, it's her job. And now she's returned, this time with a yellow legal pad and manilla folder. She's clearly ready to be a shrink. As she enters she smiles at Luke, moving to pull a chair or stool over so she can have a seat facing Luke.

"Good afternoon, Mister Campbell. How are you feeling? Recovered from your injuries I hope," she says in a pleasant, almost cheerful voice. Clearly she's trying to put him at ease.

Luke looks up when Allison comes in, then turns to face away from her. Well gee, someone doesn't want to participate in a conversation. Then again, he didn't really want to talk with her before, so…

Allison gives a knowing smile. "Still upset, are we? Well, I can't blame you for that. It is a bad situation that you've gotten into. But if you talk to me, I'll see what I can do to help improve your situation."

"Improve my situation? I'm screwed and everyone knows it. Your damn agents tried breaking me out, then tried killing me, all I did was get them before they got me." so yeah, Luke is really bothered by it. It was one thing waking up to having killed people because someone was controlling him, quite another to be in the driver's seat.

Allison shakes her head. "That's in the past, Luke. And I can help you. Probably more than anyone else here. But in order for me to do that, you need to talk to me. I know you don't like me because of who I work for, but I promise, I want to help," she says, sounding sincere.

"Really. You're saying you'd help a murderer? What, going to just… let me go?" yeah right. Luke turns to glare at Allison. "I was just minding my own business when the government locked me up, but now that I've actually proved to be a danger it's suddenly okay?"

Allison sighs. "Luke, being difficult won't help you. So either you can talk to me willingly, or I can persuade you to talk. Make it easier on both of us and talk willingly."

Luke looks at Allison. "Fine, what?" he asks her tersely. Sorry, he can't stop being difficult, it's in his nature.

Allison nods, satisfied. "Thank you." It never hurts to be polite, even to murderers. Right? "First, let's start with the things that happened while you weren't yourself. When you were under Batsu's control. You still don't remember much, right?" she asks, settling the pad on her knee so she has a surface to bear down on.

"No, I don't. Not really, just the few that you made me remember." Luke glowers at her even more at that.

"I'm sorry about that, but we needed to know so we could stop him," Allison says. "How do you feel about that? Being controlled and not remembering?"

"What the hell do you think? I want to run my own life, not have it run for me. Literally. If I saw that guy in front of me now I'd…" what, kill him? Luke falls silent again.

"I can guess, Luke, but each person is different," Allison says soothingly. "So talk to me. Just tell me how you feel about the whole situation. Batsu. Your part in his plans. The part my associates played. All of it."

"I'm pissed off, is what I am. He had no right to do that to me, it'd be like comparing me to a gun. He grabbed me, pointed me at random people, and shot." Luke certainly does sound annoyed enough.

Allison nods. "I agree. He didn't have any right to do that. All of my associates agree as well. How do you feel about your part in it? I know it was unwilling, but you have to have some thoughts on what he did through you."

Luke is quiet for a few minutes. "Wish I could take it back. I was just fine simply being on the run from you assholes. My life was starting to become normal again, and then this shit happens."

"So you don't feel guilty? Good," Allison says, nodding. "Do you blame Batsu entirely for the whole situation?"

"Yes." well, maybe Luke does feel a little guilty, but not entirely for that. "It was his entire fault, after all."

Allison cocks her head. "Yes, it was. And it's good that you're putting the blame where it's due, rather than on those who had no control over things." Like the Company. Who is innocent. Honest. "And us? How do you feel about us?"

"I just want you and the rest of the government flunkies to just leave me alone, and while you're at it, other people who've never done anything to deserve getting kidnapped and locked away." seems like Luke still thinks the Company is a government-run agency.

Allison smiles faintly. "I'm sure you do," she says, pausing to make some notations on her pad. "How do you feel about the deaths that weren't a result of Batsu's control, Luke?"

"That wasn't my fault either." Luke responds with some haste. "I heard them over the radio saying to shoot to kill. I just got them before they got me, and if I could, I'd take that back. Seems like that was all a setup by Batsu too, so I blame him for it too."

Allison arches a brow, but makes more notes. "But how do you feel about it, Luke? Despite it being a setup, it was your hand, your mind that did it."

"Well I'm not a cold blooded killer if that's what you're insinuating." Luke snaps, crossing his arms defensively. "What, I feel bad, is that what you want to hear? Ok, so I felt bad."

"I'm not insinuating anything, Luke," Allison says, shaking her head. "I'm simply asking the questions that you won't answer. And the fact that you felt bad is good news. The world doesn't need another cold blooded killer."

"Well I'm not, so don't worry." Luke is sounding a bit surly right there. "Not that it matters anyway."

"No? Why do you say that?" Allison asks, setting the pen down on her pad.

"Well because I highly doubt that you people are just going to let me go, no matter what you say. What, did you implant a microchip in me like they do for wild animals, so you can spy on me wherever I go?" gee, paranoid much, Luke?

"Of course I haven't, Luke," Allison says, shaking her head. "Besides, even if I'd wanted to, I'm not sure it would've lasted around you. Not with your ability."

Luke shrugs. Well, that's very true. "Well some other way, like maybe there's someone with an ability to find people, who knows." there's lots of people with lots of weird abilities.

Allison smiles. "You've had a hard life, haven't you, Luke? Tell me, let's say you do get released. What do you plan on doing with yourself then? And no lying please," she says, her eyes flashing that bright silver color. She's held off on using her ability, but now seems as good a time as any to use it.

"I just want to do whatever the hell I want. Maybe get a job. Most likely I'll end up stealing stuff from people though, y'know." oops, did Luke intend to say that out loud?

Allison's brows lift. "Steal stuff? Why would you want to do that? It would just get you in more trouble."

"Well I doubt I'd be able to get a job, since the government is still looking for me. It'd probably show up as a whole bunch of red flags if I ever tried." Luke sounds irritated all over again. "Besides, I've got a criminal record." he's been to Juvie many many times. "People don't want to hire people like that."

"So it's not that you want to steal, you're just afraid that you have no other choice?" Allison asks, canting her head ever so slightly. "What would you do if you didn't have to worry about being chased by the government? If you could go out and start fresh?"

"I have no idea what the hell I'd do. I guess get a job but… eh. It's not like I've got a college degree or anything, so there goes that." Luke kinda got kidnapped by the government before he could attend college.

"You could always go back to college," Allison says lightly. "What about hurting people though? Would you do that again? Outside of a life or death situation?"

"Not with my power. If they ask for it, I'll beat the shit out of them." Luke likes the fighting. "College? No thanks. For one, I don't have any money, unless my mom left something for me, doubtful." that was one of the victims he can't really complain about.

Allison studies him for a moment, and scribbles a few more things on her pad before she rises. "I think that's enough for now, Luke. Thank you for your cooperation." She smiles. "You should rest," she adds as her eyes fade back to their normal color.

Luke snorts. "Fine, whatever." he replies, and turns away from her again. He deems the conversation over as well.
