The Hangar

A wrought-iron fence borders several small garden beds and the stone stairs leading up to the house's front door. The house itself is a structure of old stone - not even concrete blocks, but quarried stone — with natural-color wood doors and window frames. The windows on the ground floor are barred.

Inside, the level is divided into only three rooms. The first is the foyer, with polished hardwood flooring, a freestanding coatrack on either side, iron-dark against soft-amber interior walls. The main staircase spirals up from one corner of the foyer, girded by a wrought-iron railing.

To the right from the entrance is the kitchen. The walls just off from white, the floor tiled in dark gray. In the center of the kitchen is a black-topped island, matching the counters that line the room. One wall is dominated by an eminently modern stove framed by an anachronistic brick hearth. Cabinets above the counters have glass doors; the windows above the sink are framed in light-colored curtains, the illumination they let in adding to the expansive atmosphere.

The dining room takes up the back of this floor. The far wall is brick and stone, with a facade of a fireplace mantle in the center. Interior walls have been painted a tone intermediate between amber and ivory, which is also the accent color in the dark rug beneath the long dining table.

Jezebel is walking out of the Hangar's kitchen not long after dinner. She looks a little damp and a tiny bit tired. "Tony? Has anyone seen Tony?" She mutters, "He'd better not have gotten himself arrested."

"Tony.. how is he?" a voice calls out and Eve enters from around the corner. Wearing a black dress and high black boots, she smiles softly at her sister and hugs her sister. "Hey there." She says softly and looks at Jezebel, the two haven't seen each other in a while.

Jezebel beams. "Eve!" She rushes forward and tries to hug Eve. "How have you been? Tony's going to be so sorry he didn't meet you, if he doesn't get back here fast. Tony is his usual self. I think he upset poor Abby this afternoon. One part shock to two parts too many questions, I think."

A kiss on the cheek is given to Jezebel. "Ahh yes, I assume Abby didn't like that too much." Eve chuckles softly. "I won't be here long, I'm actually going away for a little bit.. but I'm going to be closer to you than you think."

Jezebel kisses Eve on the cheek, so there. "Okay, what are you up to, sis?"

"Just the same old, same old. Trying to do good in the world. One dream at a time." Eve grins at Jezebel. "What have you been up to?"

Jezebel chuckles. "Mostly, minding the house. I haven't been able to catch Mohinder in ages. I want to start planting and get to work, but we're still getting frosts. I ran into the nice kid who gave me a skating lesson the other day. If you see him, help him, but don't give him either information or beer."

"Oh.. so round two at the roller rink?" Eve raises an eyebrow and smiles at Jez. "He taught you how to skate, that's nice of him." she comments and nods her head. "I haven't seen Mohinder in ages.."

Jezebel sadly says, "No, Piccoli's. RollerJam USA closed right after the bridge blew and the public ferry stopped running. Simon told me he didn't have a place to stay, so he must need help."

"Then you should help him. Simon right?" Eve will remember that name. "Jez, I know you live on the Island and you're not an idiot but please just take care of yourself over there. Be careful," she warns her sister softly.

Jezebel nods. "I have been, believe me. Noah promised me that a team would respond in a hurry if I noticed anything wrong. I'd put Simon up myself, but I can't. It's not my house, nor do I have the right to involve Simon in civil disobedience without his knowledge and consent."

"What do you mean , it's not your house? You run the Garden." Eve says with a bit of confusion. The woman looks at the younger woman with a tilt of her head.

Jezebel chuckles. "I hold it in trust for the Ferry. Simon's not one of us, nor is he looking for a quick way out of New York. We might have to recruit him if he keeps asking questions, though."

"Should talk to Hana about him, if you think that you could bring him in." Eve points out and leans against the wall. "Is he like us?" meaning is he Evolved.

Jezebel answers, "Not that I know of, but you don't have to be to join the Ferrymen. I'll try to talk to Hana. I haven't heard from her since she gave the all-clear signal."

"Ok." Eve says and nods her head, she comes to lay a hand on her sister's shoulder. "I've missed you so much." She says to her and smiles warmly, they're family. A bond stronger than any other. In theory.

Fade to black…
