Old Lucy's

Old Lucy's has a vibrant and lively feel to it, from the dark wooden floors to the black and cream risque wallpapered walls lit up by neon lights and many times, the flashing of cameras from the oft-crowded floor. The mirror behind the bar reflects prices of various drinks, bottles lined up, as well as the entire saloon as seen from the bartenders; bolted-down stools line the other side, and there are loose tables and chairs placed all around, though many times they find themselves pushed back for more space within the center of the saloon. A few speakers are placed at strategic places and around a raised stage to the far corner from the bar.

Above the counter, an obviously well-used bar is hung; it is this that the girls working will use should there be dancing, which is one reason many patrons choose to come aside from the drinks. Across the bar and near the back, there is a door that leads to the back room and owner's office and a stairwell that leads teh residence above the floor above the bar.

It's not quite evening, but it's not quite the afternoon either. And there are a few people in and about Old Lucy's. Brenda, the flirt works the bar, seeing as it isn't that busy right now. A few of the regulars are having their beers and watching the news which is currently playing right now on the TV in the corner of the bar.

In walks, a woman. Whose never been to the place before, she wears a pair of dark blue denim jeans and a long sleeved dark red top along with a long dark grey sweater jacket that falls to her knees and is open and swirling around her as she walks. Midnight black hair peeks out from the hood over her head and light grey eyes survey the place. Eve has purpose for being here.

Normally, Teo stays upstairs. Well; normal insofar as that his understanding of that term wouldn't mean very much to the average person you'd see on the street, but this evening he's here, eating at the far end of bar for lack of anything to put on the stove in Abigail's otherwise empty apartment, or possibly avoiding (or avoiding waiting for) Francois. He's characteristically dressed in too many clothes, a hooded sweater underneath a jacket, jeans, woolly socks and boots, probably an extra shirt somewhere in the mix.

He manages to move with fair celerity despite his fierce onion layers, leaning across the counter to accept a glass of ale from Brenda with physical ease albeit almost inaudible, mumbled thanks. The gashed side of his mouth is hidden from view of most of the room, concealed primarily by the scraggle of his beard and secondarily by the oblique turn of his head.

There he is. Eve's eyes widen a tad as she spots the man, who she hasn't seen in what feels like years. Quietly, she walks up to him and sits on of the barstools. "//Hello." She says in Italian and tilts her head at him before ordering a drink from Brenda.

"You're that singer right? Eve.. something or another. Yes! A girlfriend of mine, loved to see you perform at the Lounge, though it's been a while yeah?" Brenda says as she slides the drink over the singer, who nods and smiles softly. "I'm planning on making a come back soon. I hope." She says with a wink and then her gaze slides over to Teo.

Teo veritably freezes, like someone just dumped him in liquid nitro to be preserved in his moment of post-adolescent awkwardness for all time. Pale eyes shift toward the songstress, away again. Back again. The bowl of chili under his fork refuses to provide particular inspiration despite the pressure his stare exerts upon it. Stubborn, horrible, withholding chili. He's had a little bit to drink already, or he wouldn't be able to fool himself for this many questions about whether or not she was actually speaking to him.

"Buona sera," he manages, finally. The visible corner of his mouth hikes a half an inch. "Bren's friend has good taste. Good to see you around again."

"On the contrary, it's good to see you back." She says softly as she sips her drink and then places it on the bar. Eve looks.. better. Not as crazy as she use too.. like she's working on herself and has been doing pretty well for herself.

"Missed you." she says simply and takes another sip of her drink. She looks closely at Teo and reaches a hand out to run a finger over the scar on his face. "They hurt you.. I dreamt a lot about you guys while you were gone. I took a vacation too.. sort of." She says and looks away.

Long before the hand alights on his face, Teo sees the hand coming and stiffens. He doesn't— leap to his feet or anything as strange or melodramatic as that, though, just sits there with his shoulders rigid around the angles of a square and eyes burning almost incendiary in the pits of his skull, faintly annoyed at having been 'found out' and faintly annoyed that he's actually annoyed. There are far more important things.

Only hard to remember what they are, sometimes. "You too," he answers, his voice coming in on a register somewhere between gravel and deliberately neutral. He drinks his own beer, careful to cheek the amber alcohol so it doesn't spurt or spill anywhere. Vacations. That's one way to put it. "Did you stay in town or get out?"

She notices his reaction and shakes her head. "Sorry." She says softly and takes another sip of her drink. Staring forward, "I went to L.A., the man in the nightmares. He followed me.. so I came back. There's no escaping she says." And then her gaze is on Teo again, "I offended you. I shouldn't have touched the scar." She says and looks back over to Teo. "It's still.. a sore subject." She looks away again.

"Are you ok?" she asks simply.

It's a non-subject, is what Teo wants to argue, but that would be such a blatant lie not even the ghost would have bothered. "Just aches," he answers, which is kind of a joke made out of wordplay, and partly— deliberately— missing the point. Not a sore subject, only an achey jaw. "Yeah, I'm fine. Heading out of state soon, myself. Mexico.

"There are a few people working on the Nightmare thing," he adds, when Brenda's pulled away from the bar. Swallowing another mouthful of beer, he closes his fingers against the outline of his own hand in the condensation. "Helena's one. Probably Delilah and the rest of Phoenix, by now. You should hook up."

"What's in Mexico?" she asks idly and then shrugs her shoulders, she's grown use to Teo never being around. She just tries to catch him when she can, now being one of those times. And then the nightmare thing is touched upon again. With that Eve shakes her head, "Teo.. you know that Helena and I don't get along and I'm sure she wouldn't want to work with me. Thanks though." She says softly and then her mind travels back through time, reliving memories of PARIAH and the old days.

In truth, Eve hasn't been the one to reach out to Helena for a few reasons. She doesn't want to look like a fool.. she's been to busy and she hasn't really cared enough to really try and make an effort with the blonde woman. But maybe, if it was to stop an evil from terrorizing people, then she could put her pride aside? Only time will tell.

"We'll see though. Have you encountered it, the shadow man?" she asks with a tilt of her head.

Teodoro is familiar with the girls' senses of pride. They've been his companion for some years, in this timeline and the other, even long after— well. Who's absent from who's life depends on who you ask, isn't it? They've been apart awhile, that's clear enough; and he's lost some of the vibrancy she used to know, and she's lost many of the friends he still protects with his life.

Things change. Shadows grow. "Yeah. Guess we'll see. Now you're back from Los Angeles, though, there will be people who can use your help." Teo carves his fork down through chili, deep enough that the metal spars wind up clicking and dragging audibly across the ceramic on the other side. "No, I haven't. I don't think so, anyhow. My dreams— and nightmares seem entirely my own. Though…" There's a beat's pause, and Teo's brow furrows.

"I understand, I'll do whatever I can to help people." She says softly and finishes her drink. Eve's never really been absent from people in her life that she doesn't see in the physical form. They still visit.. just in her dreams.. and nightmares. The seer looks at Teo and her eyebrows raise slightly. "Though.. what?" she asks with a tilt of her head, is Teo remembering something? She wonders as she waits for the man to answer.

There's uneasy silence, drawn out, flattened behind the barricade of Teo's broken mouth as he chews on his mouthful. Finishing that, he runs his thumb of his jaw, and he lifts his gaze to meet Eve's eyes above the dewy columns of beer glasses. "There was a dream-manipulator I'd heard of in—" this sounds ridiculous, but the Sicilian's pause is short-lived. "In the other timeline. Real powerful, could affect conscious or physical behavior through dreams.

"Arthur Petrelli killed him at some point before 2014. Don't remember names or anything; just that all of Petrelli's remaining enemies knew better than to sleep easy. I think he was local, though. And an enemy of Pinehearst. It's a long fucking list," he says, in a voice like apology. Teo leans his weight on the counter, knuckling wearily over his eyes.

"Maybe.. we can somehow find record of him." Eve's mind is working and she's thinking about the different ways they can get information. Who they could ask to help them out. "I'll start looking things up, cross referencing, anything I can find. Does anyone have Pinehearst's databases? The company may be destroyed, but someone has their information."

"I always wondered.. what were like. In the future? What I was like.." she wonders aloud and looks at Teo, though she's not sure if he'll tell her.

"I'll need to start on all of this very soon. So much to do, I'm sure he won't like this. That people are on to him." she states calmly.

Teodoro is inclined to agree. God knows, Ghost didn't like it when people were onto him, back when he had adopted the 'bad guy' role in this exercise. "I'm leaving for Mexico tonight," he says. "But that's honestly as good of a clue as I've got. Even if that isn't the guy, he'll be your best chance at hunting him down. Hel asked me to look around, but I couldn't find anything; like a mentally retarded protozoa trying to catch a showjumper on the course.

"Adam might have some information," he adds, after a moment, thoughtful in a grim sort of way. No, he doesn't expect the chances of Monroe sharing are too high, but out of everyone who trashed the facility, he had the stickiest fingers. Refrain's success on the streets is proof of that. "Or the government of the United States. Maybe the Company. Who may well be inclined to help, considering the threat level."

"I'll ask him." Eve says and then she looks at Teo and her eyebrows raise slightly. "You still beat yourself up about things.. huh." She states, it's a question but she's not sure if he'll answer. All of this information runs through her head. "The government has to help, it's a dangerous Evolved putting people's lives in danger, it's times like these that make you wish all the Evolved with bad intentions were registered so they couldn't get away with this."

"Is there anything special in Mexico?" If Teo were to say he was going to find Deckard, Eve would be inclined to send her regards. For trying to kill her in her dreams.

Someone special. Many things special. Two, three. "Deckard and Beauchamp." Teo doesn't know what to do about her observation regarding his self-flagellation tendencies. He isn't sure she's right. He's just kind of down lately for ambient reasons, he thinks. You know. Face. Jesse 'Leonard' 'Alexander' 'Shelby' 'Knight' is gone. Francois's lost interest, the weather's being a complete tit. He polishes off the last of his chili and stands up, sends his spoon down with a tinkle of contact.

"My phone's always on," he says. "Let me know how it goes?

"Ah, tell Deckard to aim for the neck next time." Eve says simply and stands as well, she begins to walk out before she turns around and gives Teo a brief hug. "I'll do that, and don't forget me okay? You've been gone for a little bit." She says softly and then after she is done talking, the seer leaves the bar. She's on a mission now.
