Robert Bishop (Howard Phillips)
  • Howard's "target" may be Abby (Citation Needed)
    • He seemed surprised when she identified herself by her married name of Caliban, rather than maiden name Beauchamp
        • He talks about her in a manner that seems rather rude (Dialogue I)
    • Was aware of her ability without having seen it (When Pigs Fly)
      • He also could have heard about her ability from someone on Pollepel
  • Howard has a jacket that he's had since he was born, it was the first thing he was wrapped in once he was cleaned off (Like Forces of Nature)
    • This also suggests that Howard was not born in a hospital
    • Confirmed in a Woven Worlds dream where Elle gives birth to her son (Spark)
  • Howard is The Teal Jackass in Dialogue I (Dialogue Redux)
    • While being nice and fixing Howard's jacket, Abby discovered a compass
      • Teal informs the gathered crew that "Beauchamp found my compass. Christ."
  • Howard's biological mother died the day he was born and he was raised by people (unrelated to him) that his mother hardly knew (Having A Choice)
    • Howard refers "one of [his] moms" saying something, meaning he has more than one mother in his life, possibly meaning that the people he was raised by could be two women (Meals For Millions)
    • Was taken into the custody of Delilah and Sable following Elle's death during childbirth (Spark)
  • Howard's mother is Elle (Spark)
    • Given Elle's ability, it was highly unlikely that she could carry a pregnancy to term, but Howard's ability may have allowed this
      • They also share some surlier personality traits
    • His jacket, the one he left on Elle, fit her perfectly - he was apparently wrapped in this jacket and it hasn't left his possession since the day it was born; it seems to be implied that he wouldn't even leave it with Adel (His Jacket)
      • It's been shown to have been Sable's jacket - given their similar builds, it is unsurprising the jacket fit (Spark)
      • When Howard was with Elle, he was uncharacteristically gentle - It seems that even if she isn't his birth mother, she means something to him (Broken Arrow)
  • Howard's father may be Warren Ray (Hunch)
    • Warren was once linked to Elle, Elle reportedly already knows the father of her son (All the Time You Need)
      • The latter hinges on Walter having been completely honest with Elle, rather than manipulating her to ensure her cooperation
      • Howard Phillips is the H.P. in H.P. Lovecraft, whom Warren is a very big fan of
      • Instead of being his father, Warren may be the one to have rigged up Howard's skeleton, as he does contract work for the Institute
      • As of yet, we don't know who Howard's father is (The Princess with the Golden Slippers)
  • Howard claims he cannot fully use his Electric Mimicry ability without killing himself (Having a Choice)
    • This is because of the metal the Institute fused or replaced his skeleton with
      • As previously mentioned, this may be Warren's work, or possibly Hector Steel's
      • May have been wired up to run the time machine !Cardinal is building
        • Either the current machine in the future, or this might not be the first one (Hunch)
  • Howard seems and claims to care very little for the people of Pollepel Island and New York City (Dialogue I, Having a Choice)
    • Given the hardships of his life, this bitterness is hardly surprising
  • Howard was likely taken in by Sable Diego and Elaine Darrow-Diego following Elle's death (Spark)
    • Though he seems to care little for anybody, he's been respectful to Sable
    • Meta suggests that he gets his propensity for cursing from his mother - this would be a common trait case of nurture over nature (Having a Choice)
    • Assuming the Proust Questionnaire isn't Manny screwing with us, the talent Howard wishes he had is Incredible Musical Genuis
    • Meta suggests he is his mother's son in the fact he never knows to leave the unspoken alone (The Symmetry Of Isolation)
    • Howard's accent was explicitly identified by Ygraine as sounding near-identical to Sable's, which fits with having raised him (Broken Arrow)
  • Howard has a dislike for birds - they make him nervous (Proust Questionnaire)
  • Howard's favourite food is animal crackers - he thinks the penguins are cute (Proust Questionnaire)
  • Howard is originally from somewhere that doesn't see much snow (In Defense of Family)
    • The Ferrymen were fleeing from Grand Central Terminal when he was born, it's possible they scattered to warmer climates (Spark)
