What may seem like teleportation is actually Reeves' ability to link seemingly disconnected spaces. So long as she is able to visualize a "map" in her mind, she and those with her can travel from one space to another as instantly as one can move from one room to another. Creating this map takes some effort and concentration, and all linked places must be those she has seen before, either physically or photographically. In addition, she must travel through all of the "rooms" between two points to get from one non-adjacent point to another. Once she is through an exit and physically shuts it, the next person opening it will not be able to follow her to the next spatially-linked room in her mind map, but merely the next room over. If there is no way to "shut" the exit, she can do so mentally, but this usually a few seconds more.

"Exits" or "entrances" may be metaphorical and do not have to be actual doors and windows. Stepping into a bus stop's shelter or through an open archway, for example, works.
