Background

Michael Green was born in Red Hook, Brooklyn in 1984. His parents died soon after this in a car accident. As a youth, raised by his weary grandmother, Michael found himself involved in a lot of petty crime. He barely made it through high school, mostly because of the nagging of his grandmother who died soon thereafter, leaving Michael alone in the world. Michael joined the marines in 2002 after graduating high school, leaving the US to serve and fight in Iraq for two years. He was honorably discharged and returned to New York City where he found his skills unable to land him a job in a flagging economy. Michael eventually fell in with the same criminal element he had struggled to avoid as a child to make ends meet. He made no serious name for himself, but he had combat training and was known to be loyal and tight lipped. It was this reputation that brought him to the attention of Adam Monroe. Adam Monroe recruited Michael in 2008 along with several other semi-professional criminals, but Michael's ability to put up with Adam's weird bullshit left him in a unique position as the favored aide of an immortal. In late 2009, however, Adam disappeared and abandoned Michael, leaving him to fall in with the Ghost Shadows triad as an informant and, later, a broker for their Refrain operation.
