Profile A previously Paris-based it girl (and acid-trip little mermaid) who didn't really bank on living long enough to need to be anything else, Gwen Baudin recently inherited the Vauquelin fortunes and charitable foundation from her father, Eméric, who was murdered not far from his (now her) Bay Ridge residence while in NY working on philanthropic projects. She has taken the helm; she is much less friendly than he was.

Well-educated and well-heeled, Gwen's hobbies include aerial acrobatics and yoga, running most mornings, and arguing with almost everyone she knows. She's whipsmart, observant, resourceful and a quick study with an interest in languages (speaking French, English and Russian with a smattering of German as well as her background in Latin; in recent years, she's studied French and British sign language) that's mostly been a virtue made of necessity. In the immediate wake of Petrelli's 2007 announcement, she acquired a firearms license for sporting rifles and learned to hit a target on the assumption that becoming comfortable with firearms would not necessarily be a terrible idea in this bold new world. Due to her father's lifestyle, she taught herself to suture a wound off a Youtube tutorial after doing a shot to steady her nerves; her first aid skills are first rate, and at this point no longer exclusively owed to Youtube. She does have a certificate.

Known To Most

  • NEPOTISM, BABY: Worth roughly 25mill (USD) since the death of her father, Gwen's personal income (250k per year) is mostly the result of brand partnerships, investments and, in the future, projects licensing her father's work and brand through the estate. Unofficially his right hand until his death, she has now assumed control of the estate and the foundation, the latter of which is her only official full time commitment. The transition of power has been smooth, due to Gwen having been heavily involved from an early age; recent US projects were the only ones she was not explicitly attached to until now.
  • IT GIRL: A debutante and regular of fashion week front rows and party scene of the privileged, Gwen is familiarly glossy in tabloid photographs as the daughter, girlfriend or friend of more public individuals; someone who appears to have carried "be seen but not heard" from childhood into adulthood.

Known To Some

  • LA COLETTE: Gwen writes poetry under a nom de plume (though she prefers the term nom de guerre), 'Ilde Sauvageon'. Some of it has been published, most of it is just made available on a blog disconnected from her public profile.

Known To Few

  • THE LITTLE MERMAID GOES OFF: Attempts by an ex-boyfriend to blackmail Gwen with knowledge of her Evolved ability were neutralized by having it politely explained to him that while it would be inconvenient to have to have him dropped out of a private plane over the Atlantic and not preferable for anyone involved, it would be cheaper than paying him off and leaving him to threaten them. Only some of his limbs were broken. He was later arrested for an assault which he is currently serving time for.
