Background

Salem was a troubled youth who was left with the Lighthouse in 2010, fearing for the safety of her unborn second child, after Salem's empathic ability caused his father to kill himself. His ability continued to negatively affect those around him until he was taught to control it by Huruma. The young man returned to the Safe Zone on his own accord when he turned sixteen and has not been in contact with his fellow Lighthouse orphans for some time.
