Background

Growing up in wealthy family, Savannah was afforded the luxury of financial support while she started her writing career. She wrote in earnest, writing several books that were never published and a few that had limited success under a pen name. Eventually she wrote the first book of a trilogy that hit the bestsellers list and she skyrocketed into a life that allowed her to deliver messages and be a public figure for change. She moved to New York and continued her series, finishing it up to great success.

In April of 2011, Savannah published the first book of her second trilogy. By the next month, she had started on the next. When the events of November 8th occurred, she knew she had to stay with current events. So she wrote a bomb into her novel. And then the civil war started and she began to write about war. She was only interrupted when things got heated and she needed to relocate.

Her publisher, Kam, escorted her to Montreal. It was near enough to the US that Savannah could still venture out on trips to the field to meet up with soldiers that agreed to be interviewed for material. It drove her, kept her writing. It continued to do so until the West Coast turned into a warzone and an EMP hit. Savannah lost touch with her parents. For a time, Savannah stopped writing, absorbed in the hunt to find out if they were alright. She didn’t hear anything for three months until she got word that they had perished trying to flee a battle that broke out near where they were hiding out. That sent her in a spiral downward into depression.

It took a while and much coaxing from Kam for her to pick up her pen again. The war was a ripe source of material and words needed to be said. She wrote a message of peace, a depiction of the horrors of war from firsthand experiences she gleaned from some soldiers, and the need for stability. A book that would normally have taken much longer was complete, it just couldn’t be published yet. All of the West Coast publishers were gone, and New York had been devastated. But Kam pulled some strings with some Canadian publishers and the book was off. By the time Andrew Mitchell was put on trial, the first book of her trilogy was published.

It was a hit internationally as well as domestically, but it was much harder to get distribution with so much damaged infrastructure. Still, the books sold steadily and the message got out. So she started to write again, although at a slower pace so as not to burn herself out (Kam insisted). It wasn’t until late 2016 that her next book was published. With the Safe Zone established, Savannah insisted on moving back to New York. While Kam protested, Savannah wanted to be a face for all people and thought it would be good to be in the middle of history, as she put it. They reside in Brooklyn where Savannah is finishing the last book of the trilogy, due to be out late April of 2018. She has also decided to join the Safe Zone Co-Op in hopes of being a public face for the Safe Zone.

Savannah's core personality is one of vivacity, compassion, and love. She's got a true heart for people, a love for excitement, and a drive to find her identity. With a bit of a troublemaking streak, the combination of that and her reckless abandon make her quite a bundle of mischief. However, Savannah's personality is also complicated because of the overlaying layers of her mental disorder.

Driven by her depression, Savannah's like a star that's dimmed. While still caring, she lacks energy and drive, becomes reclusive and doubtful of anything good in her life. Friends are pushed away, relationships are not upkept, and she'd prefer to curl up in her apartment, watching movies or reading and doing very little to move. It's when she's like this that she's less able to really communicate clear answers to what she wants simply because she can't give a clear yes or no to anything because of the lack of real caring.

When driven by her mania, Savannah is unstoppable, and believes so. She takes risks, spends money, spends late nights on projects, as many as she can. Writing comes easiest then, but while the mood is uplifting and energetic, it's a false sense of security. She becomes more paranoid, reckless, brave, and foolish. She's apt to make spur-of-the-moment decisions regardless of consequences, no matter how big or small the decision is. Times like this she can be a powerful force, like a star about to explode, brighter than ever.

With medication, her personality is tempered, lessened so the moods aren't so powerful, though medication doesn't always work and, when manic, the moods can feel so good she can fool herself into believing she's just fine and doesn’t need her medication.
