Born November 2, 1975, there was never anything remarkable about his life: He tried to form a band with kids in high school, failed miserably, went to college, graduated with an associate’s degree, and became a maintenance technician for the subway system, which in itself was enough to keep him busy. He never lost interest in the music scene though, and his aborted attempt at trying to start a band in high school led him to at least know a few people, and he was a decent keyboardist, at least. His power never showed itself until one day he was working adjacent to an energized rail line, tripped, and fell right onto it… and didn’t feel a thing, much less the hundreds of volts running through. Testing with a multimeter showed there was in fact the correct amount of 625 volts flowing through. Without anyone nearby who could’ve seen, he kept quiet about it.
After the events of November 8, 2006, his life didn’t change much aside from his job getting harder, what with bombs exploding, people developing powers willy nilly, and maybe once in a while a subway train was derailed/attacked/destroyed. His own ability was passive enough for most of what he did that it generally went unnoticed; he was simply viewed as ‘lucky’ for getting zapped with very few consequences, though he certainly played it up as being worse than it was to avoid suspicion.
When they started requiring registration, he went along with it. What he did not anticipate, however, was that he would be assigned Tier 2, a fact that worried and concerned him given public opinion. A danger to others simply because he could avoid getting electrocuted? Despite this, nothing about his life changed at first, except his employer was now more willing to send him out to deal with the more ‘dangerous’ equipment (whether because they were confident he could handle it without injury or if they were hoping to ‘do away’ with a problem remains to be seen)
Things went from mediocre to a lot worse when the mandatory relocation order was signed, because not only did it mean he was going to lose his job, but his home as well. He complained long and hard about it, but that did little but irritate people in the same boat as him, so off he went to Summer Meadows. When the EMP went off, he used the confusion to sneak out of the city, using his knowledge of the subway tunnels. He ended up out in the country with some relatives in Niskayuna. When the war started, he did his best to stay out of it, and being far enough away from any major city, the little town was mostly ignored. He got by mostly by being a general handyman for the town, knowing his war around enough tools to be able to fix most things when they break, mostly appliances. To avoid trouble, he opted not to tell anyone he was registered Evolved.
When the war finally ended, he took a trip to see what happened to the city. He was appalled to find out the sheer level of destruction everywhere, and the fact that there was nothing he could help with. Discouraged, he went back to his relatives. When the Safe Zone was established a few years later, he returned to do his part in the reconstruction; all very well for the people in bigwig companies to develop plans for it and throw money around, but at the lowest level, it's the manual labor that actually did the lions share of the work. Other hands rebuilt the structures, but it was hands like his that helped make them work again; electrical systems, moving parts, and repairs were all necessary to get things off the ground. With a little hesitation, he decided to include his ability on his resume. After all, surely people would appreciate a worker who could survive getting shocked by malfunctioning electrical systems, right? And the bigshots in town driving the reconstruction effort seemed like a good place to start, so he applied to Yamagato Industries.
