K Studios - New York, New York: A vicious new strain of H5N10 has leapfrogged passed containment measures and is now circulating among the general populace of New York City. A source inside the Arthur Kill facility has confirmed that this variant of the flu carries a death rate of more than 90% of confirmed cases and this is expected to rise as more inmates are not expected to survive. Within the five boroughs, it is estimated that more than 1,000 people have been infected with many more carriers. Thus far the CDC has refused to comment.
As of yet, there is no known vaccine for this flu. It has been speculated within the medical community that any vaccine developed may be useless in a pandemic outbreak because the strain is mutating too quickly. Critics of the current government have been calling for some sort of statement in regard to the danger this new virus poses to not only the American people but to the world.
Symptoms of the flu include fever, body aches, wet cough, difficulty sleeping, photo-sensitivity, and loss of appetite. This can escalate quickly into blood in sputum, ruptured blood vessels in the eyes, hallucinations associated with aggressive mania, internal bleeding, and ultimately, death.
None of the people infected are SLC expressive, according to reports. This is a clear indication that the disease has made the transition from those of evolved status to non-evolved.
