Lucas Eldridge is registered as a Tier-1 teleporter, however his ability is far more dangerous than his registry entry indicates. Lucas teleports not just himself, but a spherical area centered on his body mass. Lucas teleportation range is roughly 100 miles from one location to another, but comes with a noticeable price of matter replacement. When Lucas teleports, an equal amount of matter from the location he is leaving must be supplanted to the location he is teleporting to.

Typically this means that Lucas himself leaves one place and relocates all of his atoms to another. An easy exchange. This also encompasses the air around him in a sphere as wide as Lucas is tall. If there happens to be solid matter in the area of his teleportation aside from himself, it comes with him. This often includes a divot from the ground beneath his feet as well, looking scooped out and burning hot on the edges from the intense molecular friction of instantaneous teleportation.

When Lucas arrives in an area, he deposits the mass brought with him that then falls where it lies. In careless moments this could mean teleporting and shearing off the front of a car, only to have it come crashing down where he lands somewhere else. In more harrowing moments, this could mean teleporting half of a person, leaving a cauterized half of a corpse behind at his exit point and dropping the burned half of a body somewhere else.

Typically when Lucas teleports he hops up in the air before leaving a location so as to not take a "chunk" out of the ground around himself. Eldridge's maximum teleportation area also limits the distance he can travel, depending on how much mass he is taking with him. His standard six foot sphere is not a safe enough diameter to bring another person with, and must be expanded out to a twelve foot diameter sphere to accommodate another person's height without "clipping" off their feet or worse.

For every doubling of Eldridge's diameter of his teleported objects, he looses 50% of the maximum distance he may travel. So at a 12 foot radius sphere of matter teleported, Eldridge may only travel 50 miles and so on. Eldridge's maximum diameter for teleportation is roughly 36 feet which limits the distance he may teleport to a fraction over 1 mile away. He has never teleported that much mass at any one time though, and only knows it as a theoretical upper limit.
