Juliette's gift allows her to intrinsically comprehend any and all methods and forms of communication, spoken, written or otherwise. She is able to understand, on the fly, anything she hears, reads or sees, which gives her the ability to rapidly pick up new languages and lends her an enhanced capacity to detect and understand patterns in speech and writing. She can even decipher programming languages and machine code, although her ability here is only to produce a set of "instructions" that explain what the code in question will do. Making the links between words in one language and the equivalent words in English is a separate process altogether. For example, hearing someone order food in an unfamiliar language does not mean she is fluent in that language; she will understand what was said, and she may even be able to stumble through an identical order, but she will soon forget what the appropriate sentence is if she doesn't use it again. Comprehension is automatic, but without reinforcing practice, it is also impermanent.

Because Juliette instinctively sees and understands language patterns, she is an unparalleled code breaker, easily picking up on the hidden meaning within messages. Able to understand computer languages, she can even break through complex electronic cryptograms, even the "unbreakable" RSA encryption. However, this ability too is hinged on the presence of a pattern. A password that is hashed using an algorithm has a pattern and can be broken. A password that is just a random jumble of characters cannot.
