In 2008 String Theory held its own in-universe Presidential election that changed the face of the game for years to come. In 2008, Allen Rickham survived an assassination attempt on the campaign trail and went on to win the 2008 presidential election by a narrow margin. But when it was discovered that Rickham had falsified his registration to hide his SLC Status, he was forced out of the Presidency. When his running mate suddenly fell ill and could not assume the role of president, that task fell to Secretary of State Nathan Petrelli, setting of a chain of events that led to Rickham becoming a freedom fighter and dying under the manipulations of the nefarious Rupert Carmichael in 2010.
In 2020, we're doing it again and hosting another in-universe presidential election!
For 2020, we are going to have one "televised" debate that you will be able to write in questions for on September 29th. This will be a "live" broadcast played out on #radio on our Discord server. While there won't be a "call-in" segment, you will be able to feed live follow-up questions throughout the event.
For those who haven't been following along with the in-world politics, we've provided a cheat-sheet for you on who is running and what they represent as well as some relevant news posts and blog posts to help you get up to speed.
