Going to post what I put in game for the summary of what the Lighthouse Initiative is.

Okay. So for the timeskip I will be apping a new faction called the Lighthouse Initiative. This is not yet apped or approved so everything is subject to change. I just wanted to get this out early so people can consider it for a source of something they can do for the timeskip.

The Lighthouse Initiative would have started just before the war and became a network of safehouses with a focus on rescuing and educating/training orphans with Evolved abilities, or taking in families with members of Evolved individuals to educate and train.

However they would also be trained in combat, covert operations, tactics, moral imperatives, etc.

During the war the Lighthouse Initiative became a major force. Recovery operations and guerilla strikes in recovering endangered orphans and families. Eventually they would have several locations including one in the dead zone of safehouse/villages for the use of harboring, raising, and training evolved children.

As the war fades out the Lighthouse Initiative focuses on repairing and healing. Drug rehab centers, recruiting therapists, all the while using the generation of growing evolved to help with the country's problems.

If you're interested in running a school, training or teaching kids, running rescue operations, or anything stated above during the timeskip chances are a Brian walked on your doorstep. Let me know if you would be interested in anything like the above in a @mail. As far as current leadership, though Brian is the founder, he does not have to be the leader at this time. I think once we get an idea of who all will be involved with the new Lighthouse we can determine that kind of stuff once we get it apped and what not. Additionally if you want to play one of the NPC Lighthouse Kids or make a new character who is a young person, trained and armed by the Lighthouse Initiative please let me know.

I imagine the Lighthouse Initiative would have an operation in the Safe Zone in New York, and be an active proponent for rehabilitation in the New York area. You guys have any ideas let me know

This looks neat!

I'd suggest having them officially sanctioned by SESA post-war, and sweep the part about training child soldiers under the rug ICly so that isn't public knowledge. Training kids in combat post-war would get them shut down pretty fast, but if the emphasis is on repairing and healing after the war, and they're not doing the combat stuff anymore, that's gonna look good from a PR standpoint. An organization like this would need government oversight in 2018, even if it's pretty hands off (a few check-ins a year, watching their bank accounts for suspicious activity since nobody wants another Vanguard accidentally happening).

Echoing Ellis:

Safehouses during the war to protect kids sounds nice. *adults* doing rescue missions to save at risk youths from war zones sounds nice. A legitimate post-war orphanage system sounds nice.

They can get away with a lot more out in the dead zones but that's outside of most of the focus area action at the moment so it likely won't impact NYC happenings.

I can see Joseph and Kaylee ending up here before getting pulled into other things *eyes big brother Cardinal* In fact, they do have a standing invitation to go stay and help with the kids (gathers up Emily), which I really think once Kaylee wakes up, she will be soooo ready to do. Good place for a certain pastors little girl. Lots of kids to play with.

And other things.. Push Joseph to logs to read.*whistles innocently*

I love the idea of carrying on the idea of the Lighthouse to a larger scale — and it does make sense to have it basically brought in as an officially sanctioned SESA organization, making more connections between the players and creating more possibilities of roleplay and interactions there.

I posted this thing and forgot to look at replies. Yeah! So what Ellis and Manny said pretty much falls into what I had in mind. In my head it's a completely by the book SESA/govt approved orphanage and network of schools/rehab/whatever. Secretly kids are trained in teams in more not so acceptable stuff. Like guns. They would be living normal lives, helping with the orphanages, going to college, etc, but would also have training days and encouraged to keep up with their cell/team members. Like Cardinal said like a army reserve except evoterrorist reserve.

To be clear, kids are being trained to be like a potential new Phoenix should the future call for it. Brian wasn't arming child soldiers during the war, only saving them. But he does want the next generation to be much more prepared than they were if the world starts to fall apart even more.

Kaylee and Joseph would def be welcome. Also I've been seeing people talking about doing LI or safe zone community stuff, as LI will def have a presence in Safe Zone I don't see them needing to be mutually exclusive.

Apping for Hailey!! I have so many ideas for animal empathy (it isn't all just moose and games).

Okay, I have Hailey approved and I think I would like to work out a 'safe house' situation on camera in the dead zone.
