Lynette would have been part of the fighting, probably through most of the civil war, if not all of it. I'm thinking she suffered a loss to the tune of Being The Last Survivor of her squad/unit/etc and decided to put her fighting days behind her.
I am thinking she would have told her father to leave the country either right near the finales of book 1 or shortly there after, and he settled in Mexico. With his support, money and connections, she started a Rehab facility in Mexico (reviving long rusty Spanish-speaking skills) aimed to help Evolved mostly, in rehab and generally in therapy for… the things evolved have gone through. There is a level of the building that serves as a safehouse and she lives on site. Anyone trying to harm the people in her facility would find it guarded by a security system and one angry electrokinetic.
She spends a significant amount of time volunteering for relief efforts in Mexico, when hurricanes and earthquakes and such hit the country. That sort of thing.
And if Brian's Lighthouse idea works out, she would link up with him to be a part of that network.
And, perhaps, returns to NYC to assist in rebuilding + maybe creating such a facility there, too.
Edit to Add: She would have linked up with the special activities peeps during the war and been willing to testify when that was offered up. She will gratefully accept her pardon, thanx much. (And probably would be willing to do interviews/talks/books/whatever, so long as profits could be giving to her rehab center.)
And I'm still working on Tania and Monica, will update when I have more solid thoughts!
