Okay.

I normally never do anything like this because I always feel weird about it. I'm not even sure where I'm going to take Tahir Avery Dunham. He went through a lot in the handful of scenes I did when we rebooted at the end of last year. He lost his show, his fame and probably his entire fanbase of hot babes. Then some other things happened and he became super serious Tahir.

And now I've got seven years to make him into something better, more fun and different but maybe bring back some of that original Tahir-ness that made me create the character in the first place. So uh… Help?

Here are some thoughts that I've already got floating around in my head.

Ability Upgrade: I know I want to explore more things for Tahir's power. I'd like to expand upon his Evolved Ability but I'm not exactly sure which direction I want to go. I'm leaning towards something with names because, y'know, that's what makes his ability different than just 'Persuasion'. Not really sure what to do on this front but I just wanted to note that I'm looking towards that.

FC: I'm also looking at using Tahir as my main character. So I want to elevate him to FC status. So I guess that means I'm willing to have mad contacts and allies or enemies and whatever else comes with being pushed up into the Feature list. Could be interesting.

Factional Stuffs: I'm not sure where in the heck Tahir's going to end up. Yet. He's going to have something to do with his family, because that's the most important thing to him. So he's going to be helping out with the Lighthouse Initiative no matter what. Because: Samara. Other than that, I'm not even sure where I'm going with these choices either. So I'm open for thoughts/ideas/etc.

If you want to recover some Fun Tahir, perhaps he can end up in Canada with other refugee types (and Brian/Samara) and finds that up there his fanbase is still into it. Maybe he's able to get some kind of radio show or something to recover some fame and capitalize on his pocket of fans in the great white north!

This is a really neat idea, and I know that Sam and Brian are going to be doing the Lighthouse school thing. I think it'd be great to have Tahir along!

Sleepy musing… there's a lot in legend and in modern fantasy literature about the importance of naming something; to name it truly is to have power over it is a common notion, which fits Tahir's power. But in some stories names can be used to define or mould, repel, summon… any of which could potentially fit. E.g. Tahir gains the ability to make someone think of him, by naming them when they're absent. Maybe some degree of impulse to want to communicate with him. There'd be quite a few options for moulding fantasy and legendary tropes to suit :)

Canada definitely sounds like something that could've happened. I love the idea of having some time to get Tahir back to his classic self. Mixing the comedy with the seriousness should be fun. It's kind of where I like to live. Having a cool radio show or something like that. I gotta' reread all the seven year stuff but maybe even some kind of pirate radio or pirate broadcast. With the way social media is, there has to be some way that Tahir can keep making a splash. And bring his fans with him.

Now this. This is what I'm talking about. People who are smarter than me figuring out some cool twists on Heroesversing "Name Powers". True Name stuff is definitely the road I want to go down so I'm going to have consider some options, research some fantasy and find a way to mix these things together with HEROES to make it work. Pseudo-Fanta-Science?!

Well, Hollywood is EMP'd to bits and the telecommunication infrastructure is garbage. Most filming for stuff like television and movies probably relocated to another part of the country. Atlanta got ht hard in the war so that out. More than likely a lot of film/cinema stuff probably happens overseas.

But that does mean there's opportunity to rebuild that on the home front too.

Start "New Broadway", with a Broadway is Back! campaign. Mould your acting career from the ground up, while letting other people be fabulous on-stage too.

To be marginally more serious… communications-poor environments do tend to produce a resurgence of live forms of entertainment, and theatre's the best large-scale story-telling option that can spread the work around a team of performers and doesn't require advanced tech.

I'm digging this Theatre Angle. It might be cool to bring back the old school Traveling Troupe trope or something. But, of course, kind of have it stationary in the NYC Safe Zone… at least that's what I think is where we'll mostly be at for this run of STRING THEORY. I could've read things wrong. Anyway, even if I manage to pull off the "Freelance Badass in a Suit" angle that's just been suggested to me on the game, maybe having a dope post-war theatre as a hideout and base for me and my team would be cool as hell.

It's like… Leverage + Heroes + Final Fantasy 9?

And maybe from there can blossom New Hollywood? Eventually?

I have managed to craft up an idea to work on for a fresh alt face! Jedidiah Jehoshaphat “Scrabble” Jones V lives. He will be a journalist / creative writer and wordsmith that's working with Liberty.

A lot of stuff is up in the air at the moment for him but I've started GDoccing this fool so we'll see where it goes.

If anybody wants to be down with a snarky 20-something writer in some capacity, give me a shout and we'll see what we can piece together. Or! Fellow Libertines! Let us plot and scheme together for great uh, well, Liberty!
