I should also post about my new character.
His name will be Jokotola Nadi.
Nigerian prince from Lagos, in the U.S learning about their treatment of Evolved, as he wants to use his position for more than what it's typically used for. He wants to really elevate himself and put himself in a position to become king, and have real power as a king, not just be someone who attracts tourism or does ceremonial things. Learning about how the U.S is handling Evolved, first hand, and how the Evolved are handling themselves, is something that he believes will help him connect with his people on a more intimate and empathetic level, in a way that addresses their contemporary issues.
He's been overachieving since he was a small child. Going to elite schools, getting to know the socialites of Lagos, making political and corporate friends. He traveled to Thailand to learn Muay Thai, and learned the martial art of Dambe from the Hausa people of West Africa. He learned how to tame and train big cats, horses, and a few other animals, and is generally culturally refined, with plenty of etiquette training and an understanding of style.
By the time that the Civil War rolls around, he realizes that if he returns home, he'd essentially be allowing an attempted genocide to happen. So he joins up with some freedom fighters (whoever has the sort of darker edge as far as freedom fighting goes), starts learning to use guns, and basically is a badass for a few years. He trains an escaped zoo tiger to help him fight.
I'm not really sure what group to settle him in, as what I -really- wanna do is rich people intrigue that occasionally involves kicking someone through a window.
His personality is that of someone who carries himself like royalty, he gives very few fucks about what people think of his actions when he feels that he's serving the people or upholding their health and safety. He has nothing against aggression and intimidation to get results, but has somewhat of a moral code when it comes to doing things that might exploit the weak and vulnerable beyond the point that they generally already are.
Of course, some might interpret him as arrogant or full of himself, it really depends on the interpretation of his words and actions. He isn't really the bragging type, he's someone who has a preference for acting as soon as speaking has run its course. His sense of humor exists, but he very much does take himself and his position very seriously. A Nigerian prince joke is a quick way to get a tooth slapped out.
He will be non-evolved.
