So Ryans puts out a call to arms for the Ferrymen. Their actions start even before the war.

So far the timeline I am thinking about for Ryans part as such:

• Shortly after getting Nicole, Lucille, and others to safety in Canada, he starts to feel like they are hiding and leaving so many other innocents to suffer. It doesn't take him long before he is ready to go back.
• He returns to New York with every intention of getting any Ferry out again. He witnesses the horror of what this Administration is willing to do. Kill the innocent and cleanse the country of anyone different. This moves Ryans to action.
• Using a technopath/radiopath (Who wants to do it?) He sends out a Call to Arms to any Ferrymen who will still listen. There were lives that still needed Ferrying.
• Ryans can not wait for people to show. People are dying so with the people he has he starts saving those that he can. Eventually, he will run distractions. Pockets of fighting so that others can Ferry out people. Keep the people busy and slip the intended victims out under the governments nose.

As previously noted, Ygraine'll be glad to help arrange cooperation between the Chessmen (Endgamers & allies) and Ryans's Ferry operation throughout the War. She won't agree with everything he gets up to (she'd oppose the assassination attempt on Mitchell, at the least), but they clearly have a lot of overlapping goals.

Alia might perhaps be a route to starting this going: she remains in NYC until February or March 2012, when it becomes clear that things aren't going to calm down before her supplies run out (in the old HQ lair Cat built for Phoenix). If Ryans returns before Alia slips out of the city (to Minneapolis, for pick-up by Ygraine), she could quite feasibly set up contact with the Endgamers (some of whom are/were Ferry) - and perhaps be the technopath who alerts the rest of the Ferry (naturally, check with her on this!).

Alternatively, if Ryans is still in contact with either Lynette or Megan, they've been given cell phones Ygraine acquired from Alia post-EMP: they can contact Alia and Ygraine as of mid-November 2011.

For most of 2012, Megan will be involved in this kind of maneuver — helping get people out and getting the kids to the Lighthouse in Canada. After the assassination attempt went awry, she stepped back from field work like that and started a clinic for the combatants. She moved between that clinic and the Lighthouse in Canada for the rest of the war. Nurse medic FTW

Re. Noa: doh! Yes - soon after leaving Pollepel Island, Ygraine picks up a good radio, specifcally so that she can be reached by Noa (and Lynette and Megan), and through her the people on the Island can reach the Endgame assembly in Minnesota. That'll still be in place in 2012, so contact with whoever we wind up acquiring as refugees after the Siege will also be possible.
