Abandoned Best Western

Lola Mayexu is resting uneasily in her little curtain cubicle. She's had an unpleasant visitor today, and she's still on edge, but the drugs and her pain and her exhaustion require her to sleep much of the day. She's going ot be in this hospital awhile, so sooner or later she has to rest. Apparently, that time is now.

But as before stated, it's an uneasy sleep, and she continuously shifts just so this way and that in her light sleep. Murmers, too, of different thing, and in some cases, almost different languages.

There's a knock, and a minute later Andrew enters the cubicle. "So, how've you been?" he asks Lola. He's dressed much as he usually is, and looks concerned. "I hear you had a visitor; I got here as soon as I could."

There are flowers besde her bed from someone calling themselves 'the jackass'. Lola rouses to the sound of a voice, actually smiling up at Andrew. "Hi sugar. I didn' think ya'd be comin' back. Yeah, I had a visitor…" She shifts a bit on the flat cot. "Fellah't strangled me's the one it was. How'd ya hear I had a visitor?"

"I asked the staff to let me know if anyone showed up, since I'm the only one who's supposed to know you're here," Andrew replies. "What did he want?" he then asks. "Other than to give you flowers…"

Lola shakes her head in a very confused manner. "He wanted ta know," She explains slowly, "all about my life. He thinks I'm a hooker or somethin' at least, s'what I let him think when…" She shakes her head. "It's not important, Andrew. Not that I don' appreciat it, but yer bein' awful kind ta me. Ya don' even like me."

"Yeah, well, it's not every day you learn you're working for a murderer," Andrew points out. "Besides, much as I don't like you, I don't dislike you enough to want you dead. I wasn't sure whether or not to believe what you had to say, but I had it confirmed by someone else. He gave me a phone number; said to give it to you. Don't worry; I didn't tell him who you are - though I did warn him you'd try to rob him blind - I just said I knew someone who thought Adam wanted her dead, and he offered to arrange some kind of protection. Up to you if you want to accept," he adds, placing the business card with Cardinal's number on the table next to the cot. "Guy calls himself Cardinal; don't know if you know him, but I wouldn't be surprised…"

Lola leans up a bit to peer at the card, shaking her head. "Naw, don' know the name," She says, though weather or not she calls remains a secret to her for now. "Listen, sug, I thank ya fer doin all ya have been fer me. Lookie me here, I got flowers - even if they are from a murderer - and I got a visitor. Why I can't think a no royalty what's gotten a better reception in a hospital than that." And the worst part is, from the look of her, is that she believes that. "I gotta admit, I'd like ta get outta here for that fellah comes back,"

Andrew nods. "Aye, I can understand that. You shouldn't need to stay here for more than a couple of days, and then we can find you somewhere to hide out 'til we know for sure how Adam's going to react if he finds you," he says with a shrug.

"Fraid Adam ain' the only one I'm worried for, sugar, but…I'll be makin a few calls, when I'm up to it. Hopefully I kin smooth things over on the other end a things." She chuckles, falling back, very happy, suddnely, that there's drugs flowing through her veins. "I'm a thief, sugar, can you even imagine how I got myself up in this mess?"

"By stealing from the wrong people?" Andrew guesses drily. "Anyway, you'd best get yourself some sleep; you're going to need if you want to get out of here any time soon. I'll see to it that your visitor doesn't return."

Lola nods, deciding that it's best to obey. She turns to the side, reaching for the card and plucking it up, holding it close as she rolls a bit to the side and closes her eyes, slowly drifting into the land of the sleep….

Andrew heads out of the cubicle. He then heads back to the reception desk and hands the guy who called him a hundred dollar bill. "If the guy who visited her last time shows up again, point him out to me would you? I think he's part of the reason she's in here."
