A Jackson home invasion turned deadly when a woman was found dead Saturday morning, shot in the back of the head execution style, according to local authorities. Laurel Bail, 43, was discovered with her hands and ankles duct-taped inside her home on Belmont Street near Lefleur's Bluff State Park.

Police were called to the residence at approximately 7:20 am by Bail's neighbor who found the front door to the house open while walking her dog past Bail's home. The neighbor found Bail lying on the bed of the first-floor bedroom and immediately contacted local authorities using Bail's phone.

The invasion appears to have included a robbery, but investigators declined to say what if anything was taken from the home. Detectives are still in the process of determining when the crime occured, but it was clear that the body "had not been there very long," said Lt. Tommy Black, Police Department spokesman.

Anyone with information about the murder of Laurel Bail is encouraged to contact local authorities. Police have no suspects at this time.
