Old Lucy's

Old Lucy's has a vibrant and lively feel to it, from the dark wooden floors to the shady crimson walls lit up by neon lights and many times, the flashing of cameras from the oft-crowded floor. The mirror behind the bar reflects prices of various drinks, bottles lined up, as well as the entire saloon as seen from the bartenders; bolted-down stools line the other side, and there are loose tables and chairs placed all around, though many times they find themselves pushed back for more space within the center of the saloon. A few speakers are placed at strategic places and around a raised stage to the far corner from the bar. Above the counter, an obviously well-used bar is hung; it is this that the girls working will use should there be dancing, which is one reason many patrons choose to come aside from the drinks. Across the bar and near the back, there is a door that leads to the owner's office and just inside a stairwell that leads a apartment on the floor above the bar.

Old Lucy's is fairly slow for the afternoon. A few of the regulars are here, but little one else. Nicolas sits at the bar, chatting up the bartender. He has a half empty glass in front of him as he chuckles at something that is said. He takes up the bottle of beer and brings it to his lips to take a quick swig. He sets the bottle down as he stands up to remove his jacket, setting it on the bar stool before he sits back down.

Adam enters into Old Lucy's. He really hasn't visited the bar much since his falling out with Abigail. And now he looks around and considers that perhaps most people don't visit that much since Isabelle. He shakes his head, but in doing so, scans the area. He pauses carefully for some moments until he spots the gentleman he was looking for. He makkes his way over and steps up to the bar proper a seat away from the man. He glances towards Nicolas and nods and then turns to the bartender, "One of those cherry beers Abigail orders for me."

Nicolas glances up as the door opens again and a new arrival enters. He looks the man over for a moment before he offers a nod in greeting as he sits down at the bar. He turns to look at the bartender after the man speaks. "Can I get another while you're at it?" He asks before he drains the last of the beer and sets the empty bottle down, digging into his pocket for a few bills.

Adam nods a bit as the bartender goes to get his beer and presumably to grab another beer for Nicolas. Adam turns towards Nicolas, "Kind of quiet, yeah?" he asks in his English accent. He offers a hand towards Nicolas and introduces himself, "Adam Monroe." he says, "Nice to meet you." he says pre-emptively.

Nicolas nods his head. "Yeah. It is a bit slow, but it should pick up a bit later on." He says as his beer arrives. He slides over the bills before he looks back to the man as he introduces himself. He takes the man's hand in his own, offering a polite smile and a nod of his head. "Nicolas Belmont. Nice to meet you too." He says in response.

Adam shakes the man's hand with a firm grip as his cherry beer is placed in front of him. He nods to the bartender and drinks it quietly before he says, "Tastes just like cherries. From Sweden." he offers as information. He pauses, "Don't mean to get too personal, but what is it that you do?"

Nicolas nods his head at the information about the Swedish beer. He takes a drink from the beer, smiling slightly as he sets it down. He looks back to Adam as he asks the question. "I'm a security consultant for corporations that want to test their internet and network security."

Adam nods, "Consulting work, that's the life, yeah?" he questions, "Be your own boss, not be tied to a single entity." he nods, "Computer work….tough business. I'm not too good at it myself. I can do the Google and such, but I'm not much better than that." he pauses before he says, "Perhaps someday you could teach me." he says in a jesting tone.

Nicolas nods his head. "Yeah and the pay is good too, which helps." He says with a smile. "Computers aren't that difficult to learn and I suppose that I can teach you, but I'd have to charge a fee and also it'd depend on how much you want to learn."

Adam chuckles. "Well, to be honest, I can find out some information, check my email, that sort of thing. I usually leave it all up to my personal assistant." he pauses a moment, "I wonder, Nicolas.." he says, "How good is the pay?" he questions, "Is there a larger amount of money you'd be more likely to work…freelance?"

Nicolas' attention is now peaked at the mans question. He glances around the room for a moment, checking to see if anyone is listening before he looks back to the man, his voice lowered a bit. "What sort of freelance are we talking about? Training your assistant or…something a bit on the darker side?"

Adam drinks the beer in his hand quietly and puts it down, "I would say…" he languidly draws it out, ""It's work that one might not find…altogether good publicity. In fact, it'd be one in which you'd put your special talents to use." he glances in Nicolas' direction with a knowing look, taking another gulp of his beer.

Nicolas takes a long pull from his beer and looks at the bottle before he looks at the man again. "Well, I do admit that you have me peaked and I suppose that I am willing to listen to a proposal. I would like to know what you need me to do. I don't go into a job without knowing exactly what I'm getting myself into."

Adam considers that and nods, "That seems reasonable. Although, in fairness." he says as he swipes beads of condensation from the side of his beer, "I was thinking of something one might call…long term employment. Beginning with a project that I currently have unfolding. In this particular case, you'd be taking a young.." he glances around, but then just turns back to Nicolas, "Person who shares your similar status in society for the same reason." he says without a bit of an arched brow. In addition to that…a large sum of money and information will be leaving the Daniel Linderman group.

Nicolas nods his head and thinks for a moment before he takes another drink of his beer bottle. "Alright. Sounds reasonable. Do you have a place we can go to talk about this without prying ears?" He asks as he drains a quarter of his beer.
