Burned beyond recognition, the small park and playground that once sat at the heart of Hunter's Point is now little more than an open concrete plain littered with the warped shapes of carousels, see-saws and swingsets. Fire swept across the open park like an incindiary windstorm during the November 8th, 2010 riots leaving the playground barren and desolate. The burned out hulks of cars parked along the streetside are equally warped and twisted by intense heat. Broken glass lies shattered on the ground along with half-burned trash and odd sights, like a perfectly undamaged tennis shoe hanging from a blackened tree. Little is left here of what this place once was.
