A staple of the neighborhood, Beans 'N' Bagels rises early and keeps the students and workers of Sheepshead Bay going. The shop is open and warm in design, sporting benches and booths made for comfort. There is a bar as well, fitted with outlets and made with the writer and student in mind. The music plays gently, the baristas are friendly and helpful (at least while they're on the clock) and ready with a refill at a moment's notice. The menu does offer more than just coffee and bagels, but there is such a variety in their titular offerings that the less conventional parts of the menu don't see much attention.
