Purpose Corporate Headquarters
Status Active

Yamagato Tower is the international headquarters of Yamagato Industries. The building was constructed between 2008 and 2011 breathing life into an abandoned design for a Taiwanese financial building. Yamagato Tower replaced the aging Yamagato Financial Building, also located in Tokyo, that had been Yamagato Industries' corporate headquarters since the company's inception. Yamagato Tower's construction began prior to the death of CEO Kaito Nakamura and features a memorial plaque dedicated to his memory in floor of the main lobby. The postmodernist architectural style of the Yamagato Tower evokes Asian traditions in a modern structure employing industrial materials. Its design incorporates a number of features that enable the structure to withstand the Pacific Rim's earthquakes and the region's tropical storms. The tower houses offices, fabrication factories, research labs, and corporate residences as well as both indoor and outdoor observatories.
