Scene Title Look What The Cat Drug In
Synopsis Grim shows up at Biddy's.
Date September 22, 2009

Biddy Flannigan's Irish Pub

Ambient lighting blankets the establishment in a soft luminescence, glowing in tones of appealing orange from the front face of the bar and low hanging light fixtures overhead. Old style brick walls given the pub an appealing depth, reflecting the tone of lights in a more amber hue down upon the lengths of the polished, wooden floors. The bar counter of lacquered dark wood stretches along the northern wall, the forefront for shelves of numerous liquors and the substantially sized LCD televisions spaced liberally behind it. The screens flicker with the latest games and news as the labeled spirit bottles wink from lighted shelves with a beckon of their own. Barstools and high tables welcome tipsy patrons to their support, scattered with throughout the barroom with a few wedge into the darker, quieter, and more secretive recesses. Over the bar are a few banners of sports teams, most notably one of English football club Manchester United.

The thick wooden door to the west is fitted with a single neon sign sponsored by one of the brews on tap, glowing in the door's center window to shed its light onto the sidewalk outside and summoning in new customers when the bar is open for business.

It's merely the afternoon at Biddy's so it's fairly dead, so Kaylee is relaxing at the bar, with a glas s of ginger ale. She's recently taken her medication, but the pills might take care of her nausea and pain, but it does little for the pale and worn appearance of the telepath. Her hair pulled back in a tight ponytail and in a Biddy's uniform, she's working hard. She yawns and glances at the clock. "It's hard to believe, Mack, that I'll be off soon. I'm use to working till closing."

Mack gives her a grin and shakes his head. "You obviously did something right."

The blonde waitress gives him an amused look, "Yeah I know. Still trying to figure out what I did right so I can do it again."

Well look what the cat dragged in. In walks Grim through the front door, his long coat swirling a little about his feet as he walks in. He glancing about the bar in search of someone and finds that particular someone almost immediately. Sliding onto a bar stool, he gives Kaylee a wink. "As Bob Vila asked to the Pope, how hangs the hammer, Your Holiness?" he asks, the corners of his lips turning up slightly as he folds his arms on the bar top.

Head slowly turning, Kaylee gives Grim a surprised look. Where the… "Seth?" She asks, as if she can't believe that is the very man sitting there. Glancing towards the door and back to him again. "Where have you been? I've been trying to call you." She looks him over and then manages a smirk. "I haven't seen you since we got back, been having to find ways to entertain myself. "

Grim gives Kaylee an apologetic look as she chastises him however so lightly and reaches out to tickle her lightly under her chin. "Aww… I'm sorry. Soon as I got home I checked my messages at my place and one of my old clients was having problems with an old stalker boyfriend, so she asked if I would be willing to escort her up to Maine and get her all settled in before leaving."

Lucky for him, Kaylee isn't so rude to go digging. She gives gives a little huff and frowns a bit. "Well… alright.. just watch it. It was probably good you were gone for a time there. I was sick for awhile there and Ash had it in his head you knocked me up." Of course, she's still sick, but not for that reason. She gives him a small smile. "I guess I'll forgive you for disappearing." She gives him a smug look, "This once."

"You mean it wasn't true?" Andrew asks, his Northern Irish brogue carrying a dry tone that Kaylee should recognise by now as joking as he walks in from the staff only area as Mac walks out. He's dressed in the pub's own uniform, and he heads for the bar. "Have you still not gone to see a bloody doctor yet?"

"Knocked you up? Babe, if it's managed to knock you up, you'd be glowing like a Christmas tree." Grim says quietly, his hand dropping to pat Kaylee's. "You're a good woman and your forgiving me for a good cause." he nods before blinking and looking over towards Andrew as he speaks up, his expression closing a little and he looks back to Kaylee. "Think I can get an Old Fashioned tall on the rocks, babe?"

That familiar voice gets a bright smile from Kaylee. "Andrew! Hey.. and no.. I am not pregnant and yes.. I saw a doctor. No no mentioning it again… like… ever." She gives the bartender a look, before, glancing at Grim, noticing his change. "Seth.. meet the new bartender, Andrew. Andrew meet Seth." She hops off the stool and nods. "I think I can get that drink for you." Moving around the bar, she gives Andrew a bump with her hip to get him to move out of her way, see she's just fine.

Andrew steps out of the way. "Evenin' Seth," he greets the man on the other side of the bar. "About bloody time," he then says to Kaylee. "So, you feeling any better? I notice you're still at the ginger ale, or did you just get addicted while you were feeling sick?" he adds in that same dry tone. "Incidentally, I actually heard no such rumour; I just happened to overhear Kaylee when I walked in."

"Evening, Andrew." Grim says with a polite nod before turning to watch Kaylee as she moves from his side. He reaches over and picks up the can of ginger ale that Kaylee had been sipping at and turns in in his hand to examine the label closely before setting it back down. Hands come to clasp together on the bar top, eyes shifting between Kaylee and Andrew as they converse.

"Yeah, yeah.. I know." Kaylee says wrinkling her nose at Andrew, sliding Grim's drink across to him. "They found nothing wrong.." Big huge lie there, but she continues on lightly. "They just gave me something for the nausea and sent me home." She leans against the bar and smiles at the illusionist across the wooden bar top from her. "I'm at least glad to see you back." Of course, that comment hints to the fact that others might be less so.

"Right," Andrew says drily, but doesn't push the subject any further. "So, has that Clemens woman gotten herself any closer to getting barred again?" he asks, changing the subject.

Taking the moment to nod his thanks to Kaylee and pick up the drink, taking a long pull and coming up gnawing on a piece of ice, Grim reaches over and brushes a bit of her hair back over her ear. "Good to be back. So who is unhappy with me now? Besides Ash." Ash just seems a given these days. "The Boss?" he raises a brow, leaning in a little further. "Besides cutting out for a couple days what'd I do wrong? I mean on that first one it was 'Seth to the Rescue'. Can't be upset with me for that." he shakes his head slowly and then takes another long pull of his drink.

"Lola? Thankfully, No… But she's dating Adam. So kinda makes it a bit tough to kick her out now." Kaylee gives Andrew an apologetic look, before smirking at Grim. "Ash… I sometimes think he's never ever really happy. Adam is Adam… He probably never noticed you were gone… And others you haven't really met, well.. except Brian." Her tone is a touch bitter talking about him. "If you see him Grim? Tell him I want my necklace back. He and I had a bit of an argument and I haven't really seen him since."

"Fuck it, I'd kick her out anyway," Andrew replies with a shrug. "Way he explained her getting back in is that she's on probation; way I reckon that works is, if she causes trouble again like last time, she doesn't come back."

"Yeah, well, Ash just needs to lighten up and take a joke for what it is. Even if it is at his overly-sensitive expense. I laugh at myself on a daily basis. You'd think a guy who could make a living doing ballet looking like he does would be able to take a joke." Grim quips and slowly shakes his head. He does blink a little at the mention of Brian and the necklace and frowns. "Alright. I don't think I like dealing with him all that much, but I'll let him know if I see him walking down a dark alley."

Kaylee gives Andrew a solemn look, "You sir are a brave man." She holds up her hands and straightens from where she is leaning, "I couldn't do it. And especially since I'm finally off double shift. I'm trying to do very little to get in trouble." She slips out from behind the bar, and drops into her seat again, picking her ginger ale up again. She takes a sip, before nodding to Grim. "I totally appreciate it, Seth.. I mean it." A glance goes across th bar to Andrew. "You too. If you see Brian. Let him know I want my necklace back."

Andrew nods. "Will do," he replies with shrug. "Besides; I got the job because he needed someone. He's not going to kick me out for barring someone who clearly deserves it; he doesn't strike me as being that stupid, regardless of who it is."

"Still would like to know what you did right to get off the double shifts. Guess you won't be crashing at my place at night anymore after a late-night double." Grim chuckles and leans over, pulling Kaylee's head towards him and kisses the top of her head. He releases her and chews on a little ice from his glass. "Brian doesn't happen to like wearing it on his person, does he? The necklace, I mean.

"Please… Adam gave you permission to see me, it ain't going to keep me away." Kaylee comments rather happily as she allows the kiss to the top of her head. Though something occurs to her, but she doesn't mention it. Nights are the worst time for her right now. The question of the necklace makes her thoughtful, "Not that I know of?" Kaylee answers Grim with a slow shrug of her shoulders. "I haven't seen him wearing it. It was a gift from Adam, he gave it to in LA. So if he sees me without it, he'll get pissed."

"All the more incentive for me, /us/ to get it back for you." Grim says slowly, his eyes shifting back and forth before shaking his head. "The Boss pissed for any reason just isn't healthy for anyone." he says as he finishes off his drink and pushes his glass away. "Well then. Guess I will get a head start on you for home so I have a chance to tidy up a bit before you get there." Of course the way his place looks, 'tidying up' consists of turning on the air conditioning. Pushing up from his stool, he nods towards Andrew. "Andrew. Pleasure." he says and then leans over to kiss the top of Kaylee's head once more. "See you at home, hon. Take your time."

The young blonde gives Grim a wicked, little smile and winks. She leans agaisnt the man briefly, before straightening. "I'll make sure to drag my feet a bit so that you can get that pig pen cleaned up." She's obviously teasing Grim, "Glad to see you back." She watches him for a moment before turning back to Andrew. "So I went by my old work place last night. Old Lucy's.. I found I kinda missed the craziness of that place. The owner let me get up on the bar for old time sake." She wiggles on her stool a bit. "I was a good evening, admittedly. You ever go there?"

"Likewise," Andrew replies to Seth. "Have a safe trip home." He then turns to Kaylee. "Yeah, I went there the once. It was a quiet night, but I ended up talking with a homicide cop. who'd just gotten off duty."

"Really? Your missing the fun of the place then." Kaylee comments brightly, shaking a finger at him. She eyes the time again and sighs at the time. So close. "I feel like I'm a traitor when I go in there. But in all seriousness, I spend so much time here as it is I need the change in scenery." She wrinkles her nose some.

Andrew shrugs. "Nah; depends what you're after. I usually go to the Rock Cellar if I'm after decent music, but generally if I'm out drinking I generally like to just sit down and relax with a pint."

Another glance to the clock and Kaylee hops off her chair with a whoop of joy. "Time to go home. Well.. Grim's and then home. Gotta get ready for a casino opening tonight." She moves down the bar and leans over it groping for her gear in the cubby on the other side. She salutes Andrew with her helmet and she slides off the bar to her feet, "See you later, Andrew!"

"All right; enjoy yourself," Andrew replies, sitting behind the bar as he waits for a customer. Christ, he hates working quiet nights…
