Dorchester Towers: Ethan's Apartment

Dorchester Towers is home to many upper class, or more wealthier inhabitants. This apartment seems to be no exception. First impressions of this place, give a homey, and well furnished feel. Lamps are put in the right place, decorations here and there. The living room consists of a large green sofa facing the wall of windows, which has a large flatscreen TV in front of it. Speakers are installed all around for the Surround Sound feel. Next to the TV is a cabinet full of DVDs. Most of these movies include a gun of some sort in each of them. A small coffee table sits in front of the couch, a few magazines spread out on it.

The kitchen is well stocked, with a microwave, coffee maker, and of course a toaster. There is an overhead pan rack hanging over the stove which has many pots, pans, and other utensils hanging from it for easy access. Three doors lead away from the kitchen and living room. Two are large, comfortable bedrooms, complete with posters on the walls, and one is a room that is furnished with a stand up punching bag, dumb bells, a treadmill, and other types of work out equipment.

For the -extremely- well trained eye, or for someone who knows what they're looking for it would be apparent that there are little things off about this apartment. Reinstalled panels, etc, that would suggest whoever lives here has done some renovation work. (Note:Ethan has 'toys' hidden throughout his apartment, in case of 'emergencies'.) Overall though, this spacious living area has been well taken care of, and kept very tidy.

Moonlight filters through the windows of Ethan's bedroom now and the usual occupant of the bed stirs, blinking at the unfamiliar sensation of not being alone. "Ethan?" Odessa murmurs, rolling from her side and onto her back, staring up that ceiling.

"Yeah." Ethan answers, one hand sliding over to her. It's nice to be in his own bed again. And it's nice to have Odessa in it still. The man rolls to his side, looking over at the woman. "I'm 'ere."

"Do I look different?" The blonde glances over out of the corner of her eye, "I mean, logic dictates to me that nothing's changed. Medical knowledge tells me nothing's changed. Little bit of blood, but…" Odessa glances down the length of her body again, "Sorry 'bout the sheets. Should come out with- Well, I'm sure you know how to get blood out of fabric." She winces. What sort of tangent was that? She asks again, "Do I look different?"

The man remains silent for a moment, Ethan staring at her through the darkness for a long moment. His hand sliding up to her cheek, his thumb stroking it gently. "You're beautiful, love." The Wolf says softly, bringing his lips forward to press a soft kiss against her lips. "Don't worry about anything."

Odessa kisses him back softly, a little uncertainly. She rolls onto her side again to face him, pulling the sheets around her. More modest now than a couple scant hours ago. "Thank you." She mirrors his movement to stroke her lover's cheek. "Was I…?"

"You were beautiful, love." Ethan says gravelly, letting his hand slide down her cheek to her neck. "Now. If you're not too tired. Maybe we should talk about.. The world ending, all that business." He says as casually as one can talking about armageddon as pillow talk.

"You just took my virginity, and you want to talk about the end of the world?" Odessa's brow wrinkles as her lips pull into a frown. All the same, she answers him. "Kazimir means for me to engineer a virus to destroy people like me. The problem being that I'm not qualified to do such a thing, and improperly handled, the virus could kill everyone. And she will."

"It needs talking about, doesn't it?" Ethan asks softly, his thumb caressing her jawline gently. "If we want to do this again. And again. And again." He grins a little bit, though pauses at the words she says. "Does he know of your qualifications?"

"I've tried telling him. He tells me to find a way." Odessa's eyes are sad. The Nightingale rests a hand on the Wolf's hip. "Sylar's agreed to help me so I don't… fuck up and kill everyone." She closes her eyes and mutters. "Shit."

Mirroring her action, his hand goes to rest on her hip. He purses his lips. "You think this is possible? A viurs that will kill everyone? Is that even possible? Someone will event a cure or something." The man instructs. The Wolf stares into the woman's eyes. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure of it. Sylar's sure of it." That's enough confirmation in Odessa's mind. "Ethan… Even if I do this right and I only wipe out the people like me… What are you going to do? Eventually, Kazimir means to have Sylar kill me for my ability. I'm sure of it. What will you do then?"

Ethan stares at her for a long moment. "I…" His mouth closes not sure to say. What does one do when priorities clash against each other. He tilts his head at her, giving a light frown. "So why are you still 'ere, if you know 'es going to try and kill you?"

"Because Sylar won't kill me. Kazimir thinks he will. Kazimir thinks we're all pawns. But not Sylar. Sylar's too afraid of my ability and what it can do. He won't kill me for it." No. If Sylar decides to kill her, it'll be for some other reason. "Besides… where would I go? I know nothing of the world. Do I stay amongst the den where I can be protected by wolves, or do I flee to the sheep and wait to be picked off like the rest of the flock?" Odessa smiles ruefully. "I am powerful, and I am clever… But I would get tired on the run, not knowing where I was or what to do. I couldn't make it on my own. I would make a mistake eventually. Trust the wrong person." The smile disappears, replaced by a look of unease. "If the Company finds me, they're either going to kill me on the spot, or lock me in a cell. Underground. Where I'll never feel the sunlight on my skin ever again. I hurt one of their people. He's the only person on this earth that I really fear. They won't let me get away with it." She scoots over closer, resting her head against Ethan's chest. "You've got your work cut out for you. Protecting me."

He remains silent as he stares at the woman. A few moments pass by as he just stares. Silence, something though is happening in his mind. His hand raises to run through her hair. "Do you want me to protect you, Odessa?" Ethan asks, softly.

"If I admit I need protecting, do you promise not to tell anyone? When people believe you're untouchable - when they believe that you believe you're untouchable - it goes a long way to actually making you untouchable." Tears glisten in Odessa's eyes, faintly visible in the moonlight. "I need people to think that. They'll find me eventually. I can stop them - all but one. Maybe two. But I haven't any ability that will save me from the ones I can't stop." She presses a thumb against her shuttered eye before the tear can drop. "Can you teach me to protect myself? I can do wonders with a gun when you couple it with my ability… But you've seen how hesitant I am when it comes to real-time. I need to learn to get better." The more she goes on, the faster she speaks, her pitch rising. Finally, she stops herself and she takes a deep breath. Let Ethan speak, Odessa.

"I can do all that, Odessa." Ethan says calmly, continuing to run his hand smoothly through her hair. "I just need you to answer my question." The Wolf says softly. His free hand goes to slide around her waist, and pull her in close to him. His lips coming close to hers.

The breath catches in Odessa's throat and, somehow, she realises the distance isn't hers to close. "What was your question?" she murmurs, breath washing over his lips. "I've got the answer."

"Do you want me to protect you?" Comes the simple question, his breath flooding over her lips in turn. His hand tightens slightly around the small of her back. He wets his lips, pausing for a moment.

"I do." Odessa wraps one arm loosely around Ethan's body, splaying her fingers over his shoulder. Her tongue also darts out briefly before she swallows, audibly only due to proximity. "Please."

"Then listen to me, right now. Listen to me now more than you ever 'ave and will in the near future. Whatever 'appens, I will take care of you. Whether you know it or not. Just continue like we never 'ad this talk. It will be taken care of." The Wolf says, going to move his body much closer to hers, closing all the distance between them. "Now.. Where were we?" He asks with a little grin.

Odessa leans back just a little, but only so she can speak. The closeness of their bodies doesn't bother her. Well, so it flusters her and puts butterflies in her belly, but it doesn't inhibit her speech. "What's that's supposed to mean?"

But Ethan doesn't answer now, his lips go down to her neck. It seems he's done with conversing. The things he wanted to say have been said. The information he wanted has been received. Now it seems there's only one other thing he wants.

"Or we can… talk about it later," Odessa says breathily, head tipping back. "Later works, too." There's only one other thing he wants, and the Nightingale is inclined to let the Wolf take it. It's a fair exchange.
