NYPD Headquarters

SCOUT's little farm of cubicles is always crowded, though this late in the day it's begun to empty out a bit. Fel, however, is still working on a report. His expression is decidedly sour - a dead end, a lead that goes nowhere, any number of Evolved harassed for no real good reason. He pauses to stretch, lazily, spine popping, and then rubs at sore eyes. There's no one else in his particular cube, though there's seating and computers for three more cops.

There are days when you want to just chill, relax, take a break from work and all its anxieties. For Katherine Marks, today is not one of those days. In fact, she can't remember the last day she took off just to do something fun — which might entail killing as an art form. She's being ridden to wrap up the jumper case and find out whether or not the family can be converted back from their rock form to normal form, or whether to consider them actually dead. So, she walks up the stairs and into the building and glances around to see if her favorite negotiator was in. You can't hassle her enough, it seems. Not finding what she wants, she's going to have to get some answers, so she begins to check each cubicle for someone slightly intelligent looking.

No luck. But there is Felix in terms of warm bodies. He's just getting up, presumably to head for the breakroom and more horrible cheap coffee. "Can I help you?" he asks, even as he takes off his glasses to wipe at them with his tie. He's got his suitjacket off, draped over the back of his chair - leaving him in dark slacks, blue oxford, and the shoulder holster.

A flash of her badge. She's become quite skilled at that in fact. "Katherine Marks. Homeland Security. I was actually looking for Officer Harrison, but it seems she's.." Well, she almost said 'out being incompetant', but she holds back. ".. not in at the moment. I'm trying to close out a case we went on a week or so ago, involving a jumper. Name's Oleander Thesputa. Any chance you can look that up to see if there's been any activity in the file?" She seems pleasant enough. Of course, looks can be deceiving.

"Reviewed this morning," Felix says, expression turning wry. Man, an agency that loves flashing their badge even more than the FBI. Someone has….less then sterling affection for Homeland Security, but at least he's not overtly impolite "Since there is no magic resurrecting lion in the greater New York area to breathe on them, it looks like they are their own funeral monuments. They will be stored as evidence for a few years, rather than decorating the morgue, just in case there's ever any change. "I'm Felix Ivanov," he adds, rather belatedly. "FBI."

"That's what I was afraid of." Kat stares at the monitor for a moment before shrugs. "Well, I guess that's that." she comments as she pulls up her PDA and taps a few keys, making a few notes on some stuff. She starts to leave, then reconsiders. "How about anything in there on Miranda Dobson?" It's a long shot, but something has bothered her about the Dobson case since the day it went down. She is almost sure Harrison is involved in that one, but she just can't quite figure out how.

Fel actually looks sheepish at that. So much for the FBI always getting their man. "Let me see on that one," He drops back into his seat, types with surprising quickness. What he pulls up has him making a face. "Nope. Think she bailed for Tiajuana."

"Well, I guess that's all I need… Felix, was it?" Of course, she remembers, but it's always a plus if you can let someone know that you remembered their name. She glances around the room. "You wouldn't happen to know where I could find Officer Harrison, now would you?" She reaches up and brushes some loose strands of hair behind her ear, tucking them in just so. "I haven't seen her in a few days, and I thought it'd be nice to catch up with her."

"Out on a case," Felix says, carelessly. "You a friend of hers?"

Katherine leans against the cubicle, stuffing her hands into her jacket pockets. "I wouldn't quite say that." She shrugs. "We've worked a couple of cases together. And we usually have a difference of opinion on how to proceed." She cocks a smirk, giving a soft chuckles. "So, I wouldn't necessarily call us friends. If we work together it's mostly out of necessity. Know her well?"

There's the faintest hint of a chill in the blue eyes, though he's clearly making an effort to keep his expression friendly. "She's a good friend," he says, lazily. "Known her for years - I used to be NYPD myself."

Kat's eyebrow arches up, then she smiles and nods. "Of course you were." she picks up her PDA and taps in a few more things before she pockets it again. "Well, if you would be so kind as to let her know I was in inquiring about those two cases, I'd appreciate it. I can see you're pretty busy, so I won't take up any more of your time." she starts to leave, when she takes a glance back. "Oh, and it was very nice to meet you. Enjoy the rest of your evening."

"Good to meet you to," he says, affably, offering her a little salute. "And I will do."
