Once Jonathan arrived to guard the surviving scavengers, Kendall doesn't really need to be there himself; his illusory dinosaurs are sufficient for this, even though they're useless for anything other than intimidation.

Suddenly at a loss for what to do, and not wanting to take the time to start thinking, Kendall rides over to Speedwagon reluctantly. It's still crashed into the window, and…

His breath hitches when he catches sight of Walker still lying sprawled on the ground where Nadira had pushed him to get out of the vehicle. He averts his gaze immediately, jaw working, and a sheet hides him from sight.

Not good enough.

Expelling a breath, another sheet appears underneath the body, the end lifting up into the air towards Kendall. Grabbing it, he concentrates, and with a strained expression the sheet shifts and bulges upwards, forming a cart of sorts. Being shifted into at least a supine position, the first sheet covering the corpse shifts into a simple coffin.

Gasping from the effort and now holding a handle, the dinosaur lowers Kendall down, and Kendall awkwardly slides off, still holding the handle.

Hesitating, he looks to where the others are, then around at the ransacked buildings nearby. The one the Speedwagon crashed into is no good with that gaping hole.

His gaze locks onto the storefront across the street, and he nods to himself. He takes a minute more to consider, then decides he doesn't want anyone watching. With a thought, both Kendall and his cart with its grisly contents disappear from sight.

Under his illusion, Kendall pulls on the handle, his ability sharing the burden and propelling it on his own as he guides it across the road, avoiding as much of the damage as he can.

When he reaches the store, he notices it used to be a restaurant, and curiosity draws his gaze up to the sign. He halts in place as he reads it.

The Green Lantern.

The irony is enough to choke Kendall, standing there in front of it as he uses his own ability to literally suspend a body on nothing but his own willpower.

Some hero he is.

Viciously kicking the already broken door in, he drags the cart over the threshold. Like everything else they've encountered so far, it's mostly been destroyed and picked clean years ago, but all he needs is an open space out of sight.

Dispelling the invisibility, the cart melts down to the floor, depositing its burden.

Kendall stands there looking at it, numb, then glances back to the entrance, though the sign is too high to see from this vantage.

"Green Lantern? Don't fuck with me." he growls out, then looks at the coffin again, words from a decade ago springing to mind unbidden.

"The Blackest Night falls from the skies,
The darkness grows as all light dies,
We crave your hearts and your…"

Kendall chokes off the words before he can finish them, and stumbles back. "What the fuck was I…fuck that!"

Shame and anger at what he was even considering causes Kendall to turn and flee the building, leaving the coffin in the middle of the floor. His dinosaur reappears and he leaps up onto it, then turns towards where Wildcat, Tinderbox, and Frizzle were parked.
