Background

Luther has been running and fighting and hiding and fighting and running some more for a very long time now. Ever since the 2006 Midtown bomb, really. That event left his family dead, rendered him homeless and declared missing or dead. He spent the next years roughing it across the deteriorating country, joining bands of fighters in the resistance. War was inevitable. But against the government’s unending resources and reach that struck back, with every loss suffered, Luther withdrew further until he went back into hiding. Until, he could hide no more. Eve and Lynette found him hidden deep in a cave, a dragon atop a hoard of broken robots and surrounded by the remains of those foolish enough to come for him. Local stories painted him out to be more monster than man. But despite local warnings they still came for him, and in the end the ladies lured him out to renew his role of scourging enemy forces all over the countryside. It’s been years since then and he’s still alive, still doing everything he can to remain so. As long as there’s breath and energy left in him, he’ll keep fighting until one or the other runs out.

Psych Profile

A belligerent bastard in times of war, a simple and quiet man in times of peace. Unfortunately for him and everybody around him, the times are currently full of war. Which means Luther is angry, cynical, excusing little and forgiving less when mistakes are made that result in endangerment of the group or himself. But buried deep under several layers of hardened facades and bitter battlefronts, Luther is still a good man. At least, that’s what he hopes he is, and not the monster he is assumed to be.

Evolved Ability

Like a mashup of his Prime and Bright powersets, Luther’s energy conversion ability changes energy from one form to another. The sources he pulls from can vary, ranging through environmental, kinetic, to his own natural stored energy. In Wasteland, he’s had years of continual practice in use of his power on the field and has applied to a wide range of uses both supporting and offensive. Honing his ability has depended on distance and power. His range extends up to 30 meters (100 feet) and doesn’t require line of sight (although generally a good idea to see where he needs to focus). With focus, he can detect energy signatures, convert the energy into more complex forms, or strike at multiple targets.

His power renders him temporarily immune to the energy effects when at work. Radiation does not sicken, electricity does not shock, fire does not burn, physical impacts fall flat, bullets lose their firepower. This doesn’t grant anyone or anything else immunity. He’s still not invulnerable to harm through other normal means either.
