Dorchester Towers: Ethan's Apartment
Dorchester Towers is home to many upper class, or more wealthier inhabitants. This apartment seems to be no exception. First impressions of this place, give a homey, and well furnished feel. Lamps are put in the right place, decorations here and there. The living room consists of a large green sofa facing the wall of windows, which has a large flatscreen TV in front of it. Speakers are installed all around for the Surround Sound feel. Next to the TV is a cabinet full of DVDs. Most of these movies include a gun of some sort in each of them. A small coffee table sits in front of the couch, a few magazines spread out on it.
The kitchen is well stocked, with a microwave, coffemaker, and of course a toaster. There is an overhead pan rack hanging over the stove which has many pots, pans, and other utensils hanging from it for easy access. Three doors lead away from the kitchen and living room. Two are large, comfortable bedrooms, complete with posters on the walls, and one is a room that is furnished with a stand up punching bag, dumb bells, a treadmill, and other types of work out equipment.
For the -extremely- well trained eye, or for someone who knows what they're looking for it would be apparent that there are little things off about this apartment. Reinstalled panels, etc, that would suggest whoever lives here has done some rennovation work. (Note:Ethan has 'toys' hidden throughout his apartment, in case of 'emergencies'.) Overall though, this spacious living area has been well taken care of, and kept very tidy.
A cold and misty day outside. Rain taps on the windows lightly, all in all it's a rather foggy, cloudy, gloomy day. Though inside Ethan's apartment it is warm. A box of pizza sits on the table, chairs surrounding the table. A few of the Vanguard have been invited over for food and instructions. The food sits in a box on top of the table, the instructions… They are contained in Ethan's mind. Sitting on the couch with a slice in a paper towel the man is currently eating while awaiting the arrival of his compatriots. He is dressed rather comfortably today.
Sierra enters her serrogent home, she tilts her head as she looks to the box then to Wolf the pizza looks inviting, so she turns and heads over holding a wine glass in her fingers "You have such refined tastes boss" she says respectfully but teasingly. She sits and awaits their guests pulling a pizza slice into her napkin
To Ethan's left sits Amato, dressed in his usual crisp white shirt, black suit, and red tie affair. Opting out on such a greasy and distinctly American ripoff of Italian cuisine as pizza, Amato instead indulges in reading the newspaper which he has spread before him. He doesn't look up when Sierra enters - at least not at first. Several seconds pass by before he folds his paper and lets his icy eyes settle on the lone woman in the room.
"I think that this might be all he sees. Munin is out doing her survelliance, and Wu-Long…well, he wouldn't be a very good shadow if we could see him even on a dark day such as this." Amato smiles, thin and full of hidden tones and meanings, before he turns to regard Ethan with a much more business-like expression. "Have you been to the barber yet?"
Taking another bite, the man pulls up his hand and wipes the grease off his mouth. Ethan's eyes flick over to the door once Sierra enters. A small frown appears on his lips. "Lock it." The Wolf says softly in between his chewing, motioning with his head back to the door. The man then looks back to Amato.
Swallowing the man tilts his head. Is that a balding joke? Finishing his piece of pizza Ethan crumples up the napkin. Looking over his shoulder the man tosses the napkin away from the couch to the trash can. Score! The napkin landing in the trash pulls a smile onto Ethan's lips. Still happy with the small victories. He then returns his gaze once again to Amato. Recognition there now. "Not quite yet, buttercup. I'll get it for you though."
Sierra sets her pizza down, onto the coffee table, her napkin soaking up the greasy food liberally, she stands back up and moves over to the door locking it up once more. A knitting of her brow is given a moment as the last of the locks is turned and she moves back over to sit beside the man. Seeing her napkin, her nose wrinkles lightly and she shakes her head a little politely lifting the pizza and takeing a small bite out of respect more then anything.
Amato nods his affirmation before he glances back at his paper. "I would be somewhat surprised if you've already come up with a reactionary plan to today's news," he continues, pursing his lips in a pause as he rereads the headline of this particular peice of newsprint: UNDERDOG TAKES ALL IN ELECTION. "I am sure that our master will want to consider and plan carefully, not rush in with…'guns blazing'? Or have you called this meeting regarding another matter?"
Nodding in approval to Sierra's actions, Ethan shakes his head with a bit of a laugh once Amato speaks. "Not to take a jab at you, Amato," As if that has ever been a concern on Ethan's mind. "But do you really think if I was to take out the fuckin' president elect with, 'guns blazing', I would call up, you two?" He raises his brows at Amato, then glances between the two. Not exactly the most Commando pair in the Vanguard. "I don't touch the election until the boss tells me so. I do my job." Ethan states firmly. The Wolf looks to Sierra, "Ever killed a man, Sierra?"
Sierra sighs softly as she listens to the Wolf "I was training alongside Kaz in Mexico and have skills he and the others taught me but no. I have not killed anyone despite those skills as of yet." she answers cooly, "But I would have no problems doing so". she offers this quietly between bites of the greasy pizza.
It is rare that Amato exercizes his rank, however subtle a position it tends to be, in front of Ethan. So it might be surprising when he lifts his pale, ungloved hand to Ethan, silently requesting a moment to analyze Sierra's response. He regards her with a curious, if not slightly speculative expression. "Blindly, you would pull a trigger or push a button that would end the life of one of your fellow human beings, regardless of whom they are?" Amato can understand why the Evolved among Kazimir Volken's ranks have found salvation and solace in the Work, and he even grasps Ethan's call to their crusade. But Sierra's story is one he is not so familiar with, the girl having been recruited without being 'interrogated' by Kazimir's Conscience.
A smirk comes up on Ethan's lips as he leans back into the couch. He remains silent now, and allows Amato to have his way as it were with the woman. He places his hands on his knees as he listens, though Amato's questions seem to be amusing him. For him, the blind button pushers, the blind trigger pullers are the best employees. Finally once Sierra has finished answering Amato the Wolf asks, "What about a woman, or a child?"
Sierra shakes her head "if they are evolved?" she asks a hatred burning in her eyes "yes." she shakes her head a moment "I pledged an Oath to the cause and I will follow orders." she says quietly with a fierce loyalty burning in her dark eyes. "If my boss says shoot, I shoot, its as simple as that". She says quietly. She might be blind, and she might be a rookie, but she at least has determination to stick through her oath to Kazmir and now Wolf.
"Let us assume, for a moment," Amato says as he leans forward, placing his elbows on his knees and lacing his fingers before his face, "that you become romantically involved with someone. It is entirely unrelated to our work, and frankly, a blessing to you. Being in love is gift from God - no one will challenge that. But what if we find out that this person is one of our enemies, Evolved or associated with them. Could you pull /that/ trigger upon command?"
Sierra shrugs "I dont intend on falling in love, with anyone that Wolf wont clear first. I see him as a father that never was. He is my Boss, and Master, I say again.. I will do what he commands me to do" she says her voice even and without doubt or hesitation. Her loyalty shining through her intence eyes.
"/Ethan/ is your master, is he?" Amato says with a lifting of his eyebrows. "And so I passed down an order, or even gave you one on my own, you would not follow it unless Ethan wholeheartedly agreed?" Amato glances from Sierra to Ethan, his expression muddled and nigh unreadable. It doesn't linger, though, and Amato is soon looking to Sierra again, awaiting her answer.
Ethan remains quiet after he asks his question. Though his brows go up when Sierra confesses her loyalties. Master? His eyes flick over to Amato for a short moment to match the other man's gaze. His expression is blank, he simply watches quietly. Then he looks back to Sierra, watching her silently without expression.
Sierra looks to Amato "Kazimir said He was to be my boss, I will be his as he wishes." she bows her head a little "If I am misguided in that I will be told I am sure, for now…" she says "even your orders would indeed go to him first" she says quietly "I am under him now though I am sure he would agree to anything you or Kazimir wished of me" she pauses a pregnent pause and sets down her pizza her lips pierce round her glass and she sighs before saying "unless he says otherwise" she says dutifully. Her tone one of complete loyalty.
It's hard to say if Amato is satisfied with Sierra's answer or not. He is silent, leaning back and folding his arms across his chest. Body language in conjunction with the absence of another question would indicate that the pale Italian has relinquished the floor to Ethan, Sierra's keeper and king.
His smirk becomes a grin. His eyes roll over to Amato, and his grin remains present. "Sierra." Ethan murmurs quietly. "Bite his nose off." The man says dryly, watching Amato with that broad smile. With a light laugh, Ethan reachs up and laces his fingers behind his head. "Well children.. If the niceities are out of the way. There is some business to speak of."
Sierra smiles softly her eyes flicker over to Ethan. "can someone's teeth really bite through the nose?" she asks as her head tilts and she leans into Amato snapping her teeth serval inches before him before leaning back. She looks to Ethan as he says that there is buisness and she is quiet once more sipping on her wine.
Amato's eyes fix themselves on Sierra, and he doesn't flinch when she comes at him. "Sierra Heart," he says gravely. "There are more than enough sins on your soul, but only one signs your death sentence. Do not tempt your fate." With that, Amato takes a deep breath and looks to Ethan, awaiting this business.
As Sierra actually leans forward, Ethan lets out a laugh. Seems he is very amused by the woman's actions. "Of course they can." He says through intervals of his laughter. Finally he stops and gives Sierra a pointed glance. "It just takes control, and the will." He glances over at Amato and grins broadly. "Straighten out your thong, Amato. Settle down. Anyways, we are going to strike fear into the hearts of a neighborhood. There is a family I found who were very supportive of Mitchell, very supportive of the Linderman act. We are going to kill them and the Evolved will be blamed. A very small task, but it is ground work that needs to be laid. I figure you two haven't 'ad much to do lately. And there isn't too much that you could screw up. So 'ere we are."
Vanguard> Amato says, "Humor is overrated."
"I can see how this fits in with the plan," Amato says in that grave voice, "but I cannot involve myself unless these people have committed sins of their own." He smiles, though, and looks to Sierra. "I can look out for your little spaniel, though. Hold her leash, if you will. But gunshot wounds are unlikley to look like the work of Evolved. I might suggest a controlled fire or some other sort of event. Something unconventional that if linked with propoganda, will leave no obvious doubt."
Rolling his eyes, Ethan pushes his head back into the couch. Then he gives a dead stare to Amato. "Oh really Amato? You think that's a good idea? Wow! You're a fucking genius! Why didn't I think of that?" His words are dripping with sarcasm. He then straightens his features and stares at Amato. "I was chosen to do this job because I am better at it than you, Amato. Let me do it, and leave your bright ideas where they belong." The man snips back, giving a bit of a glare at the man. He then returns his gaze to Sierra. "I'll be doin' this job wit' you or wit'out you. So you best leave your fuckin' cell on."
Sierra shrugs a little "I'll be available" she says pointedly, her eyes do not even look back to Amato as he
For once, Amato smiles after one of Ethan's derisive remarks. "Great minds apparently think alike, Ethan," he says with an rare, amused tone.
