Scene Title You Do This Often?
Synopsis Leland plays fetch for his roommate, no matter how much he doesn't care for what he's fetching.
Date March 18, 2009

Old Lucy's

Old Lucy's has a vibrant and lively feel to it, from the dark wooden floors to the shady crimson walls lit up by neon lights and many times, the flashing of cameras from the oft-crowded floor. The mirror behind the bar reflects prices of various drinks, bottles lined up, as well as the entire saloon as seen from the bartenders; bolted-down stools line the other side, and there are loose tables and chairs placed all around, though many times they find themselves pushed back for more space within the center of the saloon. A few speakers are placed at strategic places and around a raised stage to the far corner from the bar. Above the counter, an obviously well-used bar is hung; it is this that the girls working will use should there be dancing, which is one reason many patrons choose to come aside from the drinks. Across the bar and near the back, there is a door that leads to the owner's office and just inside a stairwell that leads a apartment on the floor above the bar.

Leland has come straight from the hospital with instructions from a certain Russian FBI agent to come and see a blonde bartender. The cop pushes open the door and despite the fact that he's dressed in casual clothes, still seems to scream cop. That, or thug, but most of them have disappeared on Staten. He walks in the way a man would do who has never been here before. It's a curious, searching look. He's looking for blonde heads that look like they might be employees.

The employee's are behind the counter, Or well one of them is, the rest are ON the counter, music blasting, dancing and swinging their asses towards the men and women. It's not awfully busy yet, that's in another two hours, but it's late enough to do the ass shaking, twist. Lelands target? The only blonde behind the bar. Hair down, painfully thin, rightly tense as she looks to be heading out from the back room. She survived the short shift, but it's money and she had to take a few breaks in the back to calm down. Leland sticks out like a sore thumb, so much so that he stops her in her tracks from afar, watching him and wary. Paranoid.

Leland squints up at the dancers. It's not the kind of appraising look you'd expect a man to give women who are shaking their asses and strutting across a bar top. It's more professional, more considering. He spots Abby and moves to the end of the bar, in a blank spot where there's no dancer. He tries to catch her eye, to get her to come over.

There's no escaping the dancers. One hops down when Abby shuffles over, eying Leland carefully with an extra bonus bartender! behind her giving Leland the stink eye that says a lot. Hurt her and die. "Welcome to Old Lucy's. I'm off shift, Brenda here can help you" Brenda gives Leland a wink.

"I'm looking for Abigail?" Leland says in a tone that is surprisingly soft-spoken. He glances sidelong to Brenda. Nothing about him says 'approachable.' In fact, quite the opposite. He might start flashing his badge in a minute if anyone tries to treat him like a customer.

"whatcha want with the Nun" Comes from Brenda as she leans her elbows on the counter. Abby just watches from behind the woman. She's not volunteering until she knows what he wants. That much is plain to see. That and worry.

Leland looks very much like he's trying to hold back his irritation. "If you're her gatekeeper, then go tell her I'm a friend of Felix's. Leave it up to her whether she comes over, uh? I'm not here to make trouble." Despite that, he manages to keep a cool, even tone.

It's easy to figure out who's Abigail now, even before Brenda turns and looks to the blonde behind her. "Why didn't he come down himself?" Ding. Leland has a winner. The blonde with the cross around her neck.

"Because he's in the hospital." Leland looks down the bar and meets Abby's eye. Something of the prickliness fades away now that he's less concerned with women named Brenda running interference. "Which is why he sent me to see you."

"Lord love a duck. He's always in the hospital" There's a tired sigh from the blonde. "Can you show me some ID? No offense, but, I just got kidnapped for a month and change and I'm… I just need to see some ID or some way to prove that your his friend" Brenda's hanging close, filling out orders, keeping an eye on the pair of them.

The burly man grits his jaw, but he complies. He fishes into his jacket and pulls out his badge. Daubrey, Leland A., Detective Lieutenant, NYPD. And a nice shiny shield without a spot on it. "Does that work for you? I've known Felix for years. We used to be partners." A beat, "And he's my roommate."

It's taken in hand, not leaving Lelands hand, but it's touched, just to make sure, studied. "I have to make sure" Not that she wasn't THERE at the station for two days. "He's okay Brenda. Tell Brian that I'll get a ride home okay? have some warm milk waiting" She'll be dead on her feet, she's sure of it. "St. Lukes?" Of course it'll be St. Lukes, it's where he always is.

Leland frowns and flips the badge closed after Abby's finished looking at it. He tucks the badge back into his jacket. "Take it this isn't the first time you've helped him?" A beat, "Not the first time I've visited him in hospital either. Apparently this time was worth it. Apparently they got Sylar." He says 'apparently' because he isn't completely confident that HomeSec will be able to hold him.

"I have a gift that gives him back a few of his nine lives Detective Daubry. He keeps tallying up the IOU's that i'll likely not cash in" But, Sylar. That gets blue eyes wide. "You'd better get me to him fast. I've.. run into Sylar a few times myself and its never… good, whats happened after" There's a wave to the other girls and Abby's there, beside Leland, waiting.

Leland gives a look around Lucy's, then steps towards the door. He holds it open for Abby to pass through. He nods towards a black sedan parked nearby. "Apparently he's stable. Said Sylar pulled his punches. Was awake when I saw him."

"Huh…" Comes from the blond, but no more. It's a quiet trip to the hospital from the both of them.

Felix got his butt healed. He'll get his ass kicked by Abby soon enough.
