Young Woman Slain

NEW YORK CITY — Dozens of family, friends and well-wishers are gathering to remember the life of a young woman who was allegedly murdered during a break-in at the Linderman Building in Manhattan's Financial District on June 30th.

The New York state medical examiner said Zoe Porter, 28, was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant between the hours of 7 PM and 10 PM Tuesday evening. Her body was found Wednesday morning by the archive's custodial staff when two unnamed witnesses arrived at the building to begin their shift.

Porter's wake is to be held on the 7th of July at the Guiding Light Baptist Church in Greenwich Village. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Anne Geddes Philanthropic Trust or the pro-Evolved charity organization Light of Change.

No suspects have been named in the slaying.
